Expedite- NVC AFTER DQ MONTREAL

Hi all,

 

I’ve submitted the expedite request to NVC after we’ve been DQ’d on sept 15. It’s been 5 weeks. We submitted another at the 30 day mark. No response from either. Not even a denial. Just the generic response you get right after you submit. 
 

has anyone else submitted an expedite to Montreal consulate lately and heard back?

Here is the problem with expedites.... they are not required to do anything with it. It is an ask. It is not an official process. I don't even think they are technically required to respond to expedite request.

 

With an expedite, all you are doing is asking and hoping you get approved. There is no obligation from them to approve it.

If you have been DQ'd, NVC has completed their portion of the work.  Any expedite requests after DQ just gets forwarded to the embassy.  

 

Montreal is a tough nut to crack.  There is a huge backlog of cases there.  You would need a very compelling reason for them to even consider granting an expedite.
