Hello everyone, I did my interview on September 2nd and the medical exams on September 6th with authorization from the consulate, the question that I told the whole truth to the doctor who is HIV-positive in treatment during the consultation (he took the names of the my medications ), that in the past in 2015 I had treated syphilis and the exam was positive and the other negative and the doctor said it was a treated syphilis he asked for more sputum tests to detect tuberculosis, all were negative the question is that mine status on cdc doesn't change it's been more than 30 days and they don't finish someone else went through something accurate?

Hi - My fiancé is in the same position. He has been referred for the TB test. He has been told the results would take 2 months to receive. He had his interview on Oct 4th since Rio is aware of the medical delay and allowing interviews to be completed first.

My question to you is - Does Rio know your medical will be delayed because of the need for the 2 month TB test? Once your TB test results are clear - will Rio then issue the K1? Does the long time for the results impact the issuance of your visa?

My anxiety is very high since we have to do this additional step and the length of time for the results and that the medical was done after the interview.

~Obrigado.

The doctor asked for the tuberculosis test, but he informed that everything was ok and he was sending it to the consulate in Rio de Janeiro. There are two types of tests for tuberculosis, one which is the "Cultura" and the other which is the "BK" one result comes out in 1 day and the other takes 3 months to come out, but the doctor said it would be fast, even though I do both I believe the consulate wants it fast, I believe that as it needs to be well checked, this exam depends on more time today I have done 41 days since I delivered the exam.

Obrigado. Estamos tentando planejar e é muito difícil - qualquer insight seria apreciado

Thank you for you insight. As I said my fiance is in the same situation, TB test causing a delay in his medical after he had his interview. He now has a clear medical. His doctor is not very "customer friendly" and does not share a lot of information. My question is once the Doctor submitted you  clear medical to Rio, how long was it before you received your Visa and did you have to contact Rio once the medical was submitted to have your visa issued?  Thanks. We are trying to plan and it is very difficult - any insight would be apprceiated

obrigada!
