So I got the CD immediately after having it done at the X-ray clinic. It took the staff just a few minutes to burn the CD so they told me to wait. I think you can email your panel physician requesting to have it mailed if you havent received it. I went to Dr. Zatzman so I'm not exactly sure what the process is for other panel physicians (I assumed it was the same everywhere). Yes, take it with you to the interview just incase.

@merovence - since you also got your medical done at Dr. Mascarenhas, I am wondering if you got the x-ray CD when you got the x-ray done during your medical. If not, did the doctor or his office say when you will be getting the CD? Thank you!

You don’t need an X-ray CD. As answered above, and in many other threads in this forum.

With due respect to everyone who recently had their interview, did any of you try to have the petitioner go inside with you and were told that they cannot or based on FAQ did you not even try to have the petitioner join you inside? I am sorry but Montreal seems to have been inconsistent on this over the years, so I am wondering if they let people through if they request?

Petitioner is not allowed inside for the interview, period.

The only exception is if the beneficiary is a minor, and not accompanied by another related beneficiary.

Yes, @darth vader, this has been the case for as long as and probably before your participation in this series of threads, addressed repeatedly and included in the FAQ.

I received mine within 10 days of crossing. From previous posts, if you don’t receive within 2 weeks, it is advised to contact your local SSA office.

Wait another week.  If you don't get it, book and appointment at your local SSA office.  Do NOT mail your documents to them to get a number, go in person.  It's 6 in one hand, half a dozen in the other as to whether the SSN is generated and sent, despite checking the box on the DS-260.

@DGF I think we need to add this to the FAQ's because it seems to get asked at least once a week.

Hey, now that you mentioned it, I double checked and it came from Nebraska Service Center. Hopefully you hear soon!

This is what is currently in the FAQ:

How long until I get my SSN?

Even if you selected “yes” to receive your SSN on the DS260, you may not get one. If you don’t have your SSN 3 weeks after POE, go to your local social security office (during COVID this requires an appointment) to inquire about it. If you didn’t select “yes”, you’ll have to go in person regardless. It will take about 10 days after that.

Let me know if it needs revising or is out of date and I will gladly update it!

Timely reminder y'all, READ THE FAQ.

Not sure if this is the right thread, but I just figured out that fully vaccinated Canadians travelling back from the U.S. can still get randomly selected for an on-arrival COVID test. Have anyone you know travelled back recently and were they randomly selected for testing upon arrival? If so, how soon do the results come? Thank you!

Hi, been in the US for almost 6 months now. Does anyone who is in the US now have a contact (either in the US or Canada) to do both my US and Canadian taxes? I have income from both sides of the border. Thanks!

It would be hard to get a CPA these days during peak tax season, but I'm sure you would be able to find one. Although I cannot recommend you one from personal experience, your best bet would be to google cross border tax firms in the towns near border. There are plenty of those of in border towns and most are very experienced, since a lot of border town residents have tax filings in both U.S. and Canada.
