After you select "I have received a Consular interview appointment date from the National Visa Center (NVC) or the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) and I have been instructed to register my appointment on this site" AND  click "continue" AND create an account, you will get the page to select "I need to register an immigrant visa appointment."

Speaking as someone who HAS already registered for CR1 visa appointment, just as the author of the FAQ...

Thank you for your prompt reply,

I am also getting error when trying to add email in create account. It has 'email in use already'. I am using same email i was used for all my correspondence with NVC and never registered on this site before. Any clue if i need to use a different email here?

No, you don't need to use a different email. if you have never registered on the site before it should work. I suggest you call them and ask for assistance:

Also remember (as noted in the FAQ), that if you JUST received your interview date, it may take 24-48 hours for the system to become available for you to register your appointment.

When you register, this question is asked twice. The first time, answer “I have received a Consular interview appointment date from the National Visa Center (NVC) or the Kentucky Consular Center (KCC) and I have been instructed to register my appointment on this site.”

Once you verify your account, you will be asked again and need to select “I need to register an immigrant visa appointment.”

I just tried registering mine and it said my case number is not ready for an appointment. In the past it seems to have taken a day for the system to be ready, so maybe hold off on doing this until tomorrow.

1. For those in Ontario, in your experience, is Dr.Mascarenhas in Toronto better than Dr. Lee in Scarborough or Dr. Zatzman in Vaughn? I am hearing that Dr. Mascarenhas has more experience but not sure if/how that matters. If you can share your opinion/information on this, that would be great.

2. Regarding COVID vaccination status. FAQ says:

I can only get the first dose in a series vaccine before my medical. What should I do?

This is fine (as confirmed by Dr. Zatzman’s office). You will still need to get the remaining doses but your medical will not be

impacted.

Does anyone know if this information has changed? I have both doses but no booster, not sure if booster is required?

Thank you!

Booster is not required as it's not part of the CDC's definition of vaccinated. Not sure about second dose tbh, when I wrote that things were still very much up in the air. I believe it'll be treated as the rest of the vaccines which come in a series where if you have the first then you're good to go but need to complete the series once in the US.

Sorry if I am missing something obvious here. I went through the websites of all three Ontario doctors, and I am confused about how vaccination works. For e.g. Dr. Mascarenhas' website says that you need a vaccine checklist filled out by your family doctor and they DO NOT GIVE VACCINES IN THEIR OFFICE.

Well, I do not even have a family doctor, I have been to walk-in clinics occasionally but no family doctor per se. I however, have vaccination checklist from my previous U.S. visa medical from India (mentions Tdap and MMR which were administered, and notes that I have had chickenpox in the past). I am utterly confused if this would be admissible. Is it safe to just get all the applicable vaccines again? If so, where do I get them if the doctor at the medical appointment can not administer them? Do I get them from a walk-in clinic BEFORE my medical exam?

I will be calling all the places tomorrow but hopefully someone with experience can share some information. Thank you!

Even I have been skipped multiple times unfortunately. I have tried to expedite, talked to nvc, talked to a Level 2 NVC officer, submitted NVC inquiry form, emailed Montreal consulate, reached out to the congressman no luck with anything. This is an issue with NVC which they are refusing to acknowledge. I have been following the India group and there are applicants skipped there as well since 3 months.

@darth vader I have heard that you can get the vaccinations in walk in clinics. Its better to get the vaccinations ahead of the medical examination

Thank you @AshEve. I feel stupid to not have been on top of this. I have had done several medicals in India in my 20s including U.S. visa medicals and they just give you shots you need at the medical examination appointment itself. I never thought it would be such a production here in Canada.

Best I can tell is there is two ways to go about this - get a titers test to figure which vaccines you have had and then as per your doctor (family or walk-in) get what is required. Titers test itself can take 3-4 weeks for results to come and then you get the vaccines you need. I DO NOT HAVE THAT KINDOF TIME.

I would honestly prefer just getting whatever is required afresh. Not sure if that is possible? Also, some of these vaccines seem (Tdap?) seem to be two shots (actually one doctor says two, another says 1-2 i.e. one-to-two). But based on FAQ, my understanding is that for the ones that need more than one shot, first shot before medical examination is enough.

I will be calling panel physicians' office tomorrow to see if they will accept a copy of my prior U.S. visa medical vaccination done in India as a proof.

In the meantime, I wonder what is the best way for me from here on? Do I just go to a travel clinic and get MMR/Tdap/Flu etc.? Or do I go to a walk-in clinic and hope that the doctor doesn't insist on a titers test before they can give me any vaccines?

@darth vaderas you said first option is to confirm with physician if they would accept your record. if not and  if you comfortable taking the vaccines afresh you can approach walk in clinics to get the vaccines afresh. I don't think they would insist on a titers test. I know someone from india who moved to canada who did that.
