No spouse allowed.

Are your children immigrating? Were visa applications submitted? If so, your interviews will be bundled.

@mam521

My kids and I are all US citizens already.  My Canadian husband is applying for his Green Card.  So then the kids and I don't have to go to Montreal.  Thank you for being more clear than the government!

Thank you so much for this info, it's much appreciated!  We'll avoid Dr. Lyndon for sure.  If anyone else is seeing this with a positive experience in the GTA, please let me know which doctor  you used.  Also, when you went to your interview, did you go alone or did your spouse and kids have to be there?  The letter isn't clear.  At the bottom of the letter it lists me, my son, and my daughter with the word/code "at", and then the interview time is blank.

I went to Dr. Zatzman in Vaughan on Jan 5th for my medical. My interview is on Jan 21 and as of right now, my reports haven't been sent to the consulate. I emailed the office on the 15th to ask about the status and as @From_CAN_2_US mentioned, they're just waiting on the blood work due to the backlog. I still have a few days left but the last minute nerves are starting to kick in lol.

Would definitely recommend getting the medical done at the earliest time slot if you're unable to find time to do in Montreal.

I am not certain about that tho someone told me that since Canada is a low fraud country, evidences like bonafides are just easy to prove. Sorry but I don’t know if that was even correct. As you can see in my timeline, it took almost 8 months to get my NOA2 though me and my husband have a daughter together who is also an American citizen thru her dad. I honestly don’t feel there is a difference being a Canadian citizen and not 😂

Hi there. I just checked your timeline and was surprised the fast process at NVC stage. For USCIS process stage, we also waited for 8 mos. before my wife received the approval and case process transferred to NVC. You got lucky on your NVC process stage that only took 26 calendar days. I assume you had gathered the Police Clearance from RCMP and in NBI while waiting for the approval at USCIS. Because if getting those Police clearance only when the NVC/CEAC asked you, for RCMP will take more than a week and getting NBI in Philippines and sending it in Canada will take about a month (it happened to us). From what I see is you are well advanced in gathering the required documents. Congrats!

Got our letter on Friday the 14th!!!!!

please add your interview date to your timeline and include DQ in "case completed at NVC." Additionally, you can put 14 Jan as the date for "packet 4."

I really appreciate everyone's advice, am looking into booking in Montreal.  I'm registering the interview appointment online, and it is asking for the DS-260 number.  Which number is that????  It's the one box without a pop-up explainer!!!

Small update from me: Finally figured out that there was a status checker for CEAC (thank you thread <3) and I've been DQ'd as of Nov 12th (I think I've updated this correctly in my timeline - happy to fix if not.) Sounds like Mtl has missed a few in queue from Oct/Nov for interview letters - hoping to see a letter come through next month for those of us on similar timing.

The DS-260 number is the number under the barcode on the bottom right of the confirmation page that was printable when you completed the DS-260.  Mine started with AA.

As for doctors, I did my medical with Dr. Lee in Scarborough last Wednesday.  Interview is this Friday.  He also uses LifeLabs for the bloodwork and advised me they are backlogged and some are taking 2 weeks to process so I am expecting my medical won't show up prior to the interview unfortunately.

I know right! I got so lucky at nvc stage. I submitted my police clearance under my maiden from the Philippines which I got in 2018. I never went back since I left years ago. So it was readily available on hand. I got the police clearance here in Canada right away and waited for 12 days only though I was told it could take over 3 weeks due to holidays. I was supposed to submit all the requirements prior to dec 24 but then I got really busy. I expected that our file won’t be looked at not until Jan but then 5 days after we submitted everything, we received an email about getting DQ’d which really surprised me. I checked our account right away to be sure and yeah there it was! Haha while we were at the USCIS stage, I already secured my birth certificate from another country since the issuing authority changed and needed a new one. My husband was telling me that I was way too advance in all things and that I can pass as a reviewer in cases such as this because my attention to detail was impeccable. I think being in the medical field contributed to that 😂

Our interview was Jan 12th. We had emailed Dr. Lyndon and made an appointment for around Dec 13th. We were told it takes 1 week for results to come back and sent to the consulate - and that we'll get an email when our medical is sent to the consulate. We didn't get a confirmation email and I sent them an email for an update on Dec 31st. Next day I received an email from them that our medical file was sent to the consulate.

Just make sure to be proactive about it and book well ahead of time. LifeLabs might be backlogged, so it may take longer for tests to come back.

Update on our case -- Passport has arrived at the post office. We'll probably go tomorrow to pick it up once roads are better from the snowstorm.

This backlog must be affecting many applicants.  They'll still do the interview without the medical, it'll just delay the process moving forward until they receive the results?  Fingers crossed your results get there in time!

Thank you.

Yes you can still do the interview but you will be refused a visa and put in Administrative Processing as they can not issue without the medical.  Once they receive it after the interview they can continue with the case.  Unfortunately there is no timeline to that review once they receive it.  Other than that it won't affect the outcome of your case, just the length of time it takes.
