Totally! I'm am certainly not mad or complaining about the spreadsheet :) Just wanted a bit of insight on recent trends. It's a lot of work to maintain that spreadsheet. So many people to deal with.

Hi everyone

I have an uncommon question,

I was DQd on Feb 2nd and my interview is June 28 at MTL embassy

my husband has a trip planned for us to Iceland (non refundable) and our flight is for June 29 (how crazy is that) so one day after our interview. He planned this months in advance

my question is can I ask the embassy that I need my passport and I will courier my passport after a week ? Or is that not a good idea
I am really confused. I don’t want to risk anything. My husband is sure that it’s not a big deal
Has anyone gone thru something like this before?

thank you

A BIG thank you to everyone in this forum for helping me prepare for my interview.  I had it at the Montreal embassy last Thursday.  Besides the long wait times, the interview went smoothly and I was told that my visa will be approved.

I have been checking my status in the CEAC portal, and it is still saying "Ready".  Are there any trackers that show how long it will take for the status to change?  Does anyone know when I can expect to get my passport back?

Good news and congratulations!

No tracker that I'm aware of, you just need to keep checking the site. The next status is "Issued" and shortly after you should get tracking information for your passport return. My visa was "Ready" by the Wednesday and transitioned to "Issued" the next day (Thursday) with tracking available shortly after. I had my passport back by Friday.

That seems consistent with most people that report receiving their passport on either a Friday or Monday.

I would guess that if you had your interview last Thursday, maybe the visa wasn't ready in time to go out that day. I'd expect and hope for it to be issued and sent this Thursday. Do post an update with your experience!

Thank you for the insight!  What day was your interview on?

I think that would create big problems and/or long delays—definitely “a big deal”. As I was waiting for my interview, one lady was talking with an agent saying that she needed to make sure she'd have her passport back within two weeks, I think because she also had an international trip planned, and the agent couldn't guarantee it. They need your passport to validate your identity and stick the temporary green card (sorry for my lack of vocabulary) in it. It's the last step before you can cross the border. Personally, I wouldn't want to do anything to create hurdles to that process, especially after waiting such a long time, but maybe someone else will have a good idea!

I hope somebody else can offer ideas!

My interview was also on a Thursday, but due to other factors my visa wasn't approved immediately and didn't become "ready" until 13 days later (the second Wednesday following my interview)

Hey everyone - I'm panicking a bit now because my status has switched to "refused", which is really confusing because I was told they planned on approving me, took my passport, and told me to expect within 2 weeks.  I'm super confused and I haven't heard anything from the embassy regarding any information they might've missed or additional questions they have.  Has anyone experienced this before?

The status always goes to "refused" before it switches to "issued".  Don't stress...it's normal :)

I think I saw someone else ask a very similar question, but now I can't find it. My husband's interview is scheduled for June 26th. He got a doctors appt for April 25th. Is this too far in advance? We saw other people saying there was a huge wait so when he saw the April 25th date, he booked it, but now we're worried it might not be close enough to the actual interview.

Thanks for your help and sorry if this is a repeat question!
