There is no reason stated on the 221g. They just checked the box for additional processing required. They will contact when this is complete.

Was it the first box?

Sorry about ignoring your earlier question about the police certificate. I didn’t know the answer to that for sure as I haven’t interviewed yet.

It sounds like she may be asked to fill up the DS-5535.

It is worrying that we are seeing so many of these cases at Montreal off late. Please do update us with your progress.

The good news is they kept her passport. So perhaps it’s not going to be a long wait… good luck!

My medical exam was yesterday, at the Montreal clinic, and it was incredibly positive. I have a mild cerebral palsy, and have been super anxious about the medical exam because of it. The doctor told me that she absolutely doesn’t consider me disabled, and it was a really good visit.

Last year when submitted paperwork to become DQ'ed the 864 forms for sponsor and joint sponsor were based on the years 2017, 2018, and 2019. I have tax form 1040 copies and IRS transcripts in hand for these years.

However, now are the tax forms for 2020 required? Joint sponsor has not yet completed these forms. Would 2020 W-2's along with current paystubs satisfy this requirement? Or should the 1040 tax form be filled out and brought if possible?

Also since the joint sponsor is married, it seems needs the I-864A form also filled out from the spouse of joint sponsor, can anyone confirm this? First I've seen this.

Thank you in advance for reading, interview is coming up very soon. This is a wonderful community!

Wife had interview Tuesday morning. Interview lasted about three minutes. She was initially denied and informed that she had to have administrative processing. They kept her passport and kept the police certificates from the 4 countries she lived in. They returned all other documents. Is it common for them to keep the police certificates?

I can't add anything re: the administrative processing but It's normal for them to keep the police certificates, they will be sent back with her passport (and hopefully visa!)

I am not a lawyer and nothing I say is or should be taken as legal advice.

Good to know that’s standard. Thank you. Just in the waiting game again.

Anybody here from New Hampshire? I have been reading about needing long form marriage certificate for the interview and I didn’t even know what that means until yesterday. Does anyone know if New Hampshire has a long form version of the marriage certificate? I couldn’t find anything about it online.

Getting paranoid about the acceptability of all my documents now that I see the possibility of an interview soon. 😅

What a relief!

Which doctor’s office is this?

It was one in Toronto but the issue they said was on the consulates side. They kept me up to date on what was going on and worked really hard to fix it for that 10/10. Also the medical was a breeze wasn’t even in the office for 20 X-ray took like 10 mins bloodwork well that’s another story lol
