@TSmith, how was your interview?

@Cstewart & @Julio-jimmy, do you have interview dates?

Yes I had my interview April 4th and just received my passport back today with the visa :) (April 6)

Anyone have any idea when they might be sending out the next round of IL’s?

Historically, they usually send a batch out second week of the month.

But this was before December 2021, when there was a huge backlog. Since January, the backlog is essentially eliminated, and we haven’t had as many people on VJ with recent DQs to track properly. So not sure how regular things are now.

But if it they continue as before, you could expect ILs to be issued next week. Latest April 17.

What has helped a lot of us here especially when the backlog was longer was the excel spreadsheet that tracks the timelines of everyone going through Montreal. Maybe you can get on that as a reference. The queue right now isn't long due to people maybe not on the list.

When the Montreal Consulate website cites "most IR/fiance visa cases being scheduled for interview ... were DQ at NC in February 2022", any idea or data on what % of the February DQ gets the IL? 51%? 95%? Or any idea if you are less likely to get the IL if you were DQ'ed towards the end of February?

It’s usually (or supposed to be up) up to a certain cut off date. There is no way to tell officially what that cut off date is. The best info we have is @Hawk Riders’s spreadsheet, which you can find in their signature (only on PC, not on mobile).

Update on my credit card application saga.

So after three reevaluations, my credit card application here with TD based on my credit history in Canada stands as “declined.”

After a lot prodding, checking with transunion etc, as to why I am declined despite having a score of 820 with perfect payment history, they gave some kind of answer -

Apparently having 5 credit cards in Canada is not enough. One has to have some sort of monthly reported credit in the form of mortgage/ loan / car payment, which I do not have…

Does this sound correct to you all? Should I keep trying perhaps with other lenders or not having a mortgage/ car payment a definite mail in my coffin (to be overdramatic…)

Are you on US utilities--ie, your name as well as the USC? Have you been added as an authorized user to any of the USC's credit lines? Do you already have other joint banking accounts with the USC? These things can also contribute to giving you a US credit history...

Does anyone know anything about results from Montreal Chest Institute? I know that her sputum test results will take about 8 weeks but, how long does it take for the chest institute to get the results back to Telus and then how long for the Embassy to follow up on the returned results typically?

So, are you still in limbo on those results and final approval?

When I moved, I got my US card AFTER I'd sold my house...we didn't have any revolving credit or loans left in Canada.  Very bizarre!  the only difference was I am with RBC.

Thank you!!!

I had a feeling something wasn’t right… I regret closing my HSBC account before moving. I moved from HSBC to TD exactly because I thought it would help me with the transition. And I had an RBC below my building… argh!
