I am sure this has been asked a million times, so heres to time a million and one.. !

We just had to resubmit docs to NVC as we made some mistakes.. If we expedite at NVC, does that automatically expedite us at the embassy in Montreal?

We would like to skip the wait for NVC, but arent quite ready to do the medical and all of that plus pack up and move in the next few months.

You want to expedite and aren't ready to pack up and move.  Oh brother.   You want to drive in the express lane and go 15 mph.

No, expediting at NVC would not DIRECTlY expedite your interview. Once you are expedited at NVC, you would be DQ’d. This would put you in queue for interview.

Once in queue, the wait is currently less than 2 months to the interview. You can always request to postpone, but the wait the would be indefinite.

Curious though, why do you want to expedite when you are not ready to interview.

Hello,

My wife got an email back after her medical indicating she had to go back to Montreal to the montreal chest institute for a lung scan. So besides the obvious fear of what they saw, we are wondering how long it typically takes for the US Embassy to revisit your case. We were told to still go the the Interview on March 14th and then submit the results from the chest scan once complete. Anyone know if it is handled quickly?

@BatmanFlow Experienced this with his dad. Unfortunately, it took several months for them (3-4 I believe.) The results for the scan take  a long time to come and then Montreal takes time to get to the case. It's weird because some people whose medicals were delayed were approved soon after results were received (within 2 weeks) while for others it took more than 4 months. Purely luck which category you will fall under. But yes, there is a 2 month delay just for the results of the lung scan apparently.

What paperwork is needed for moving with dogs from Canada to US? Not finding a consistent answer.

Dog only needs to appear healthy when crossing. Afaik Canada isn't a high-risk country for rabies, so no rabies certificate needed. However, regardless, I'd advise that a dog have an up to date rabies vaccination anyways. Fortunately they don't need immigrant visas! XD

Yes my dad ran into this issue. His X-rays weren’t clear (he was a smoker) so he had to do a Sputum test for TB clearance. In Toronto it took a month to get the appointment. Then it takes two months for the sputum tests to come back (no way to expedite this. Once the results came in the immigration doctor sent the results over to embassy. Once they received it, it took about 4 weeks to issue visa.

not sure if yours is just a lung scan or sputum test. Hopefully a scan rather than sputum test.

We've been asked before for proof of a Rabies vaccine for our dog, but I can't remember if it was the US or Canada that asked for it on our many trips over the years.  I highly recommend having it handy.  You don't want any more hassle than necessary.

Dogs don't need a health certificate but they do need to be current with their vaccines. Rabies is a must and must be at least 3 months before you cross.

Editing to correct my wording if crossing by land dogs will not need a health certificate, by air the airline may require it.

Saw some people posting who crossed POE around the same time as me wondering about getting their green cards. Thought I would give an update.I had reached over 90 days and planned on contacting USCIS but I was too busy. Checked status Feb 11 status said the card was produced! I got the card in the mail Saturday Feb 19th. A little over 90 days. I crossed November 1, 2021.

I realized I didn't updated this topic  for the excel sheet @Hawk Riders

My interview was January 12 > refused due to missing medical from Dec 30th 2021.

Medical was sent on January 30, showed refused under AP during the whole time and  my tracking number and passport was sent on February 10th 2022.

Passport arrived February 12!.

On another topic...

Im waiting for my husband to come back from work in Alaska. I was wondering if I should take a walk to rainbow bridge since I live so close and activate my IR1 while I wait for him since SSN and GC are taking some time....?

During Covid I've been dropping off my husband at the booth half way through the bridge and being escorted back to the Canadian side by the Americans without any problems. I just wonder what should I bring besides my passport and my parka 😂 ?

Today is my birthday. It is, also, the first day of a new month. I am making my wish this year for all of us who have been waiting (so long) for IL's to come through this month. I am thinking of us all right now and sending out all of my positive thoughts your way. This will be over soon. ❤️
