HI-

We would like to fly from Texas to West  Virgina. My husband has a i485 pending. Will there be any issues getting through TSA? I know they are part of DHS and will probably see he's been in the US since last December.

Anyone ever get stopped at TSA for this reason? Any suggestions like maybe he should bring his 485 paperwork ? Will they ask for vaccination paperwork at any point?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks

Kierra

It happens all the time. Just not to everyone.

Still no vaccine mandate for domestically commercial aviation.

Always a good idea to have Covid vaccine records for any venues like restaurants that demand proof of vaccination

Before my wife had a combo card or green card she used her REAL ID state identity card for air travel. REAL ID indicates to TSA the traveler is authorized to be in the USA.  Worth getting one.

Thanks!

You are welcome.  One more tip. Bring a copy of the marriage certificate if the I-485 is marriage based.  If TSA does refer him to CBP, some CBP officers will ask about the marriage status.  2.5  after getting married and 1.5 years  after my wife got her green card, a CBP officer once asked us if we recently got married.

Here's the experience of another VJ member who recently traveled domestically with AOS pending --

He should be just fine, but watch out for those Hillbillys up there in West Virginia they don't take up with strangers.  Just joking I was born in West Virginia and live in Texas   Have aa good trip.

TSA doesn't really check your I-94 once you're traveling domestic. He'll be fine but he can carry his evidence of legal presence just in case. I know people that have traveled domestic flights constantly with expired I-94's and unlawful presence
