Hello, my husband is having issues retrieving his tax transcript.
Basically IRS didn’t update his address in their system and therefore he can’t access his online account. We sent a mail request for it but we had zero answers yet.

His tax transcript might not even be ready anyways cause this year he has to mail in his taxes and hasn’t received any response from IRS about those either.

NVC website writes “If you completed Form I-864, I-864A, or I-864EZ submit an IRS tax transcript from the most recent tax year, which NVC can process more efficiently than a copy of a tax return. Alternatively, you may submit a complete copy of a filed tax return from the most recent tax year.”

We were thinking of submitting his tax returns + W2 copies instead of a tax transcript and write a note about what is going on with IRS and try to bring the transcript at the interview. Is there anybody in this group being successful in doing so? We don’t have a joint sponsor so it won’t get confusing for NVC to review it.

Thank you very much.

Yes, some people send the 1040 package.

"Alternatively, you may submit a complete copy of a filed tax return from the most recent tax year.”" Just make sure you send the complete 1040 package (everything you sent the IRS).

One more thing:  We registered my wife on the IRS website a couple weeks ago.  The IRS sent the activation code to our NEW address although I never notified them that we had moved 3 months ago.  The activation code appeared in our mailbox about a week after requesting it.  This happened last week.

My husband changed address more than a year ago! I will give it this week and if by Friday we don’t receive anything I’ll go ahead and post the tax returns, thank you for your answer ☺️☺️

if you're submitting the full tax return, ensure you include ALL W2's and 1099s, every ... single.... one.

Then do yourself a favour, and add a covering note explaining why there is no tax transcript, and a summarise your W2 /1099s, for example... I have one job for which I have submitted my W2 and have one 1099 for my savings account or I have no 1099 etc.  ... many people get RFE for W2 or 1099 that don't exist, or shouldn't be needed but NVC decide they want to see them or be told specifically that they don't exist.

This is really useful! Thank you so much, I wanted to wait for the tax transcript but it's taking too much time and we are getting pushed back because of it. The NVC  website says tax returns are fine, so I think I will just go ahead. I`ll try to bring it to the interview!
