There's probably some other people who can answer better than me - but I saw one on the way to the biometrics place. I can't remember what it was called though, sorry. It was done up all nice with hanging baskets outside though!

When I can drive, I will go check it out.

Taste of Britain

Just a note to fellow Atlantans (sp), Im off to 'Taste of Britain' at the weekend in Norcross.

They do Paxo Sage and Onion stuffing mix fo $1.99 and a Curly wurly is only 85c!!!

Things like Cherry Bakewells and Salad Cream are about $5, but you cant go wrong with that price for stuffing.

Luckily my sister in law sent me a years supply of Bisto, so its a roast this weekend!!!

Ah yes indeed,

I visted "Taste of Briatain" when vsiting a few years ago,

my husband loves mint aero bars and Vimto

That's certainly somewhere I'll be frequenting on a regular basis, got to keep the sunday roast tradition going :)

I'm surprised to hear that everyone has had such a positive experience with Atlanta Immigration. The several times my fiance has been over (he flies in from Gatwick, usually on Delta), Immigration has been HARSH. The last time he came, I'd been waiting for him to come out for about 3 hours in baggage claim after his flight had arrived. My cell phone rang and it was an Immigration officer who started asking me LOADS of questions. I was soooo nervous when I answered... I was caught quite off guard because I'd never heard of them CALLING before. I stumbled over my answers and thought for sure they'd deny him entry. But they let him through, thank goodness! But it was so stressful each time, that we decided to not risk a visit here until the visa is approved.

I live in Birmingham, Alabama, by the way. I visit Atlanta quite often... I bought my car there, a Mini Cooper, and have to drive all the way to Atlanta to have it serviced. Maybe we should plan a get-together with Brit/American couples in the vicinity when we all finally get our fiance/es here! :)

2007:

February - May: extended visit to States, engagement.

5/4: I-129F sent (Texas Service Center, forwarded to California Service Center)

5/11: Petition received at California Service Center.

5/16: Check cleared. NOA1 online (no hard copy received yet)

6/19: NOA1 hard copy arrived FINALLY

7/16: Sent off for Police Certificate (U.K.)

8/22: TOUCHED due to phone call (RFE Trick, was told case wasn't assigned yet)

9/20:APPROVED!!! After 127 days from NOA1 and 139 days from filing date.

10/23: Spoke to Kelly at NVC who said they should have received our petition by now. She advised I send a copy of our NOA2 directly to the NVC office, which I did immediately. :-)

10/26: NVC RECEIVES CASE!

10/30: NVC SENDS CASE TO LONDON CONSULATE

11/1: Consulate receives case in London AND sends out Packet 3.

11/6: Sent Packet 3 to Consulate (we'd downloaded the forms on VJ and had them completed already)

11/22: Appointment for Medical.

2008:

01/08: Interview scheduled for 10 a.m. APPROVED!!!

02/01/08: Stephen comes to America!!!

Sorry to hear about that stressful experience,

as I said before, I wouldn't say that the officers at Atlanta were particularly friendly, but I've never been grilled like that before :(

A Brits in Atlanta get together sounds like a great idea, maybe for a curry or some other traditional British fare!

Links aren't working but I am pretty sure I've been there!! Only once though and it has been a few years. Does it have an outside patio?

I wouldn't say that the immigration officers in Atlanta have been the friendliest, however we've never had a "negative" entry from there pursay. The longest I've ever had to wait for Chris was when he arrived on his K-1 in May. But that was to be expected. :)

We'd be up for an Atlanta area meet up. We are in Atlanta at least once a month!
