Hi, thank you,

i was looking at USCIS website, it really seems straight forward. If I’m not mistaken I should apply for:

i-485 adjustment of status (fee is $1140 + $85 biometrics)

i-131 travel document ( fee is $575)

i-765 employment autorization ( fee is $410) not sure if I need to apply for this if I already have my c31

along with medicals,  2 passport photos, Copy of passport, Copy of birth certificate, Copy of I94

Do you know if thats right? Or if I need something else

thank you so much

Yes that is correct. The fee for i-485 is $1225.00

since you already have c31 EAD, you do not need c09 at this moment.

What i would suggest is send i-485. once you get the receipt of i-485. then you can send i-131 along with i-485 receipt. it would be free then as well as the i-765.

Hello Guys, I hope everyone is doing well. I wanted to get your thoughts on this. I am still married although we are no longer living together or talk to each other. My concern is that the bank keeps posting monthly chargers in our two joint bank accounts because of inactivity. I am tired of paying for  the chargers every month because I don't want anything to spoil my financial records here. I hope it won't be a problem if I close the accounts? And again, I don't want USCIS to think we are still together because the accounts are still active.

Timeline:

- Dec. 2020 - Received I-360, I-485, I-765, & I-131

- Feb. 2021 - Fingerprints applied to I-765 only

- March 2021 - Correspondence was received I-360

- March 2021 - Fingerprints applied to I-360 & I-485

- June 2021 - Prima Facie

- July 2021 - EAD expedited through my senator and got approved, received combo card in July

Just close the account. It will not be a problem if you close the account.

Violent physical exercise: does lifting come under this? Or maybe kick boxing

Absolutely, both!  It might also be gratifying to picture whom you're kicking and boxing while you're doing it.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Hi VJ family,

I know with covid Vermont is backed up. I have sent in my I360 a while ago and still not received the receipt notice. During this time I also requested the local office to hold my i485 in abeyance and they said they will do so if I show that my i360 was filed.

What can I send them to prove this since I do not have the receipt notice yet and I have been waiting for a long time. Should I mail them the FedEx proof of service? Ie tracking number and screen shot package was delivered to Vermont USCIS office?

@sandranj what do you think?

The I-765 and I-131 are free if filed with or while I-485 is pending. This includes both initial and renewal applications*. So you only pay $1225 for I-485 and biometrics. Yes, you have the document list right, do include a copy of the I-360 approval notice.

* - There's one exception to this, if you got a fee waiver for I-485 for renewals you'll either need to pay the I-765/I-131 filing fees or get another fee waiver.

I-485, I-765, I-131, I-864W, and if you want to I-693 (which has to be signed and sealed by a civil surgeon), you can also just file without it and later respond to an RFE.

Hi All, I am a Green Card holder that I got through VAWA. I divorced by abusive spouse 5 years ago and I filed for VAWA. It took me 4 years and it was last year when I got my Green card. This year I got married and my spouse is from outside of US and I am trying to sponsor my spouse for Green Card. I wanted to understand about this rule on the USCIS website which says as a Lawful permanent resident I cannot sponsor for new spouse. However, I want to understand if the green card that I got through VAWA is considered as a green card through prior marriage or not, and if this rule applies to me or not. Did anyone here file for their spouse

I have been researching about this for a while and I saw several cases where people were able to sponsor a new spouse without problems. However Sandra (and later on Demise) were extremely clear about the process. I feel quite scared to go through this process after I will obtain a green card. If anyone else has case studies to bring to this forum please do so! I will bring what I found!

Hello guys,

Yesterday I had my 1-130 interview. The immigration officer (a woman) treated me like I was a criminal since the first second...it was dehumanizing...

I have filed my I-360 but I did not have the receipt notice yet. The officer told me, "we will hold the file for 30 days". I am not sure if that means that it is ok, that I am nit loosing my EAD. When I asked her to clarify, she got very upset.

I have a flight booked for my country next week (I have not been able to go back in years), but now I am scared that they will revoke my documents while I am away.

Basically, I am not sure what happened yesterday. Can someone clarify?

Thank you

I would say wait until you provide them your receipt of VAWA.

When did you filled for VAWA?
