Official Replacement Weekly VAWA-Thread Joke*

*hopefully not a repeat, and just as good for evoking approvals as all the others

CLIMATE NEWS

It seems that a fire has been burning underground at a coal mine in Kentucky for several years, but some copralith (petrified dinosaur dung) has been discovered there recently.  This means that the fire has to be put out for science, but it is extremely expensive.  Fortunately, it is being funded by the "Endangered Feces Act."

I went for my interview today… went in 30 mins prior. My lawyer supposed to come with me but she came late. So I went in without her. The IO asked if I want to wait for her but I told her there is no need. She asked my date of birth, parents name, if I have kids, I had two, the second one just one month ago. She asked for their birth certificates, then my divorce decree, yes or no question and that was it. She later gave me a paper that after background check, they will make a decision.
After 10 mins, I got update that my card is being produced. I’m so happy this is the end of the journey since 2016 I got married to my abuser . Filed Vawa 2018.
i wish everyone all the best.

Hope everyone is doing great, really happy seeing all approvals. Those are waiting, i will keep you in my prayers.

asking for the friend.

What are the consequence of working without EAD? He had F1 EAD prior and during his marriage, his wife made him lost his job and status both, he filed VAWA but now working with his SSN and getting paid by payroll, honestly dont know how but for few months already doing this, just got to know about it. Will it cost him dearly? I asked him to stop working till get his EAD but damage is already done. TIA

USCIS will forgive the time he worked without work permit, but AFTER filing Vawa he  should not break the Law and he must work with work permit.

Bring your marriage certificate, and if you are divorced ,or if you were divorced before, bring the divorce decree as well. If you have kids bring a copy of their birth's certificate, if your spouse was divorced before bring a copy of his divorce decree.

Hello,

I485 was filed in Aug 2018 and while that was in process, vawa petition was filed in Aug 2019 and i485 was requested to be held in abeyance. Vawa got approved july2021 and i485 was transferred to nbc in aug 2021. How long does it take for i485 to get approved? Any way to expedite this as i485 is pending since 2018. All i485 docs were submitted then and even interview was completed. But i didn't get decision after interview since medical was missing then. Vawa happened just few months after the i485 decision was pending and medical submitted.

Each local office has its on timeline,  from 6 to 19 months.USCIS will not expedite your I-485.
