You need to find out the date that the field office received your file.  Otherwise, they will reject the query.

You still need passport pictures, follow the instructions to renew.

You will have to inquire about when your file was transferred from Vermont to NBC for clearance.  After it has been cleared by NBC, then the field office will let them know when to send the file to them.  VAWA files are not based upon when you initially filed for the I-485 for processing times.

It looks like my spouse is determined to sabotage my immigration status. I’m suspecting they will withdraw my I-864. (I have a pending I-485, no I-130 since I was K1 holder) 

 

I’m terrified because, from my understanding, my C09 based work permit will be immediately voided once USCIS receives the I-864 withdrawal letter and deny my I-485. Should I file VAWA right now and let the field office know? Will they hold it in abeyance even before the interview is scheduled? If I lose my work permit now, I can’t wait without work authorization another several years to get it back until my VAWA is approved. Please help.

Your VAWA case will not be approved for 18-24 months.  You can file to renew your EAD.

If your spouse is a US Citizen, you can refile I-485, I-765, and I-131 yourself

Has anyone travelled recently with Advance Parole? I just received a renewed AP in paper, not card form. The covid travel bans are being lifted soon so I would like to travel back to Ireland to see my family but of course am terrified of not getting back in. Vawa was approved in April 2021. Have a valid passport, no criminal history. Did overstay my visa before getting married in 2018. Thanks for any advice.

The interview with my husband went so bad, he made it look so awefull and the officer wasn't too convinced, we got an "invitation" for the second interview... WITH THE CAMERAS!!! Sooooo I feel like they are suspicious with my marriage, do you guys think I should take a lawyer with me?

I think I would feel safier since it is about my life... My green card! But also officers apparently aren't allowed to ask about the past, but without the lawyer they could...

Hi! I just want to share with you my experience. I travelled with my EAD/AP twice in 2019 even before my VAWA was approved, so I think you will be good. Just the normal procedure where they take you in a different room and they check your passport and card. I dont remember them asking a lot of questions, probably stayed in the room for 2-5mins. Immigration officer just asked me about my flight though and how was my vacation and that's it. My entry was in JFK NY. Hope this helps!!!

Awesome, thank you for sharing. Also, when was your vawa approved? I see your interview is coming up? Congratulations! I am in NYC also.
