Sorry to hear that you can't reach out your congressman or senator.

Unfortunately, due to the sensitivity of vawa cases, they can't process any queries online. They will just acknowledge it and then, send you a response that they can't process it and that you have to write to Vermont.

So, it will be a waste of time.

You may try by sending your request directly to Vermont with all the evidences relevant to the expedition. Then wait and see what will be the outcome of it.

But I can guarantee you by experience that you will not hear anything from them at least before 30 to 60 days.

Thank you!

Hello everyone,
I need to ask a question regarding the naturalization of the derivative of a vawa applicant.
I recently become an US citizen as a main applicant in a vawa petition. It's taken a while but this part is done now.
My son (20 and 1/2 years old) interviewed with uscis today - he is the (only) derivative on my approved I-360 application.  In other words we both have been approved for residency on the same vawa approval.
The problem is he's been turned down by a seemingly inexperienced officer (who never seen a similar case before) while they say he as a derivative needs to wait until the 5 year term to apply for citizenship.
Does anybody has an idea how to document combat this as it seems completely wrong to me. I am planning to resubmit and I would like to include the clearest of the documents I could get.
Thanks so much for any ideas you may have!

My I-360 was approved on October 8 2021, I received my I-360 approval notice on January 24. Last week I received a I-693 medical deficiency rfe. It says I shouldn’t mail anything a the moment. Can I start getting it done or I should hold on?

Am I moving closer to something? lol just thinking out loud.

thank you all

Best to wait for the letter asking you to either come in for interview with the medicals or to just mail the medicals without an interview.

yes you are getting closer to your GC

Has anyone who got an RFE for a medical recently received their greencard? Trying to figure out how long it will take and if I should reach out to congressperson again soon.

Hey,

I’ve dropped off my medical report in November 2021 and haven’t had an update since. I’m considering reaching out to my representative at the 120 day mark if I still haven’t heard back. Anyone in a similar situation? My FO is Brooklyn, NY.

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

If you have paid for i-485 then NO you do not have to pay. just attach the I-485 receipt.

If you did not pay for i-485 then Yes you have to pay or you can fill out fee wavier.

No fee for the EAD/ AP renewal as far as the original I485 was already paid.
