Please has anyone done an Infopass recently and was responded to

I do not think,  infopass works with vawa cases.

They will still ask you to write to Vermont for they are the ones handling all cases related to you form I-360.

This thread has a lot of helpful informations that will help anyone to go through his or her vawa journey without too much stress.

Dear All, One week ago I received my green card, I am  36 years old, I am starting to file for some federal jobs, and encountered that I have to select my current selective service status, I have never listed for it because I just got my Green Card and now I am 36, do I need to get the status information letter and show the reasons why I never listed to the selective service? is getting this letter necessary?
Is this something necessary to apply for federal jobs and later on for naturalization?
Please let me know

Unless you came to the US before you were 25, then you don't have to register.

Hi Thanks for your answer, when I was 25 I might have come to the US as a tourist and stayed only few days and went back to my country

does being a tourist with B1/B2 visa counts to register for selective services?

Don’t really know much about this…but from a logical perspective, I wouldn’t think coming in with a visiting visa warrants registration for service. Following this line of thought, I think you’re good. 👍

I have a green card too and I never registered, first of all, you are 36, I am 27, the gap year is 26. I don't think this is an issue for you.

Can anyone give me pointers on how to deal with USPS and card delivered on file but not in mailbox?

If you're home during the day, try to meet the postal carrier when he/she shows up in person.  Explain the situation politely and ask for help.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

I have and he has opened all the boxes nothing. I’m At the post office, unfortunately they have a notorious service over here, I got a print out of the delivery and they scanned it twice but no one here is wanting to explain to me why they scanned it twice and where it is.

is there anything else I can do?

Call USPS customer service, file a complaint. Explain that USPS has lost an important document and that you demand that they return it back to you.

Unfortunately, USPS does not get it until you call them several times and demand that they do their job. My packages got lost multiple times and they kept brushing me off. After a few phone calls the packages were magically found.

it’s a little bit tougher with regular mail, though.

Also, try to speak with neighbors sharing the same address with you.

In case they have your mail, they can easily give it back to you.

Some people's don't even,  at times, care returning all missing mails found in their mailboxes. They just left it sleeping in their homes and later on trashed it.

So, explore that road, and see what it comes out of it.
