It depends who you dealing with.

 

Technically there should not be a any problem.

 

My process was very smooth and easy.

these threads have tons of information and I am going through them slowly but sometimes little caught up.

i got divorced in 2021 Sep to US Spouse,and I am applying vawa abused spouse as self , no attorney.

i finished my psychological eval .

what form do I need to submit concurrently including travel authorization?

and what is C09 and c13 in my case.

My therapy sessions are going on as well.

can you guide me for self declaration draft as how I go step by step.

Which form do I need to use for waiver fee to submit the forms. Can I share the forms with you once I fill them up.

 

since you are an attorney also please help me out for document reviewing. It’s a request.

you need form i-360, That's for Vawa,

i-485 Adjustment of Status.

i-765 for Work permit

i-131 for travel document. 

i-912 fee wavier. 

 

Once you will have i-485 pending. then USCIS will approve your form i-765 and will issue C09. That would take around 9 to 11 months. 

C31 will issue once your VAWA approve and there is a check box that you need to select if you need work permit once VAWA approves. 

 

 

Those are pretty straight forward. you should be able to finish by yourself.

As I read some threads about wrong filing of C31 instead of C09 , so I am confused , I really had no idea about these categories , until I came through this forum. 
what is C09 and where do I write this category in the form( which form no.?)

C09 will be on form i-765 that is based on pending form i-485. 

 

Just send all those forms. not to worry about C31 because they will take at least 24 months or more. That you will get when your VAWA gets approved. no do not worry about that right now.

You are qualified to apply for a work permit under category C09 if you’re married to an American Citizen thus able to adjust your status during the same process of filing your VAWA case. 
 

if you’re married to a green card holder you cannot adjust your status right away you would have to wait until a slot is available to you after the approval of the VAWA. After VAWA is approved then you can get a work permit under category C31.

Hi Guys,

 

An update un my I765 - C09 case. I sent the renewal on 09.21.2020. 

 

btw, my vawa was already approved so with this one I will have two valid work permits.
