I did not submit an i485

 

I just want to make sure I have everything ready because I don’t know how long they will give me to finish working on the medical since it might take me a little long to do it overseas. 

 

sorry for asking too many questions, I’m still trying to understand this process

You don't have to submit the medical exams before VAWA approval.

Hi Everyone,

Fingerprint not available on my EAD Card. Could that be a possible reason for I-360 long pending security checks? if yes, is there anything I can do to help the situation?

NYC local office  approved my GC 3 months after they received my I-693. Sent on Feb 2021  Approval May 2021

And if you are in the US, then you have to go back to your home country for consular processing of H1b if you are currently out of valid visa status. And unless you or employer can pay for premium processing to expedite, h1b can take several months to a year or more to process.

Hi. I am in NYC. My VAWA was approved in April 2021. I did fingerprints in July 2021. Then, my attorney sent my medical in August 2021 without rfe. Have not heard anything since July. Is there anything I can do? Thanks

Yes I have C9 but its current validity isn't long enough for the length of residency. Fingers crossed that it is a non issue - just figured I would at least have the approval by time of graduation so I am not in this situation when I applied in March 2020.

EAD doesn't need to be valid for the length of the residency for them to hire you. If residency folks cause trouble, please let us know. If you are already in residency, the program would be more motivated to keep you in case of expiration of EAD. Also your work authorization is automatically valid for another 180 days after expiration of c9 EAD, as long as you apply for renewal before expiration of current EAD. The renewal receipt notice says so, and you can show that to the residency folks in case they track your EAD end date. Is this nursing or doctor residency? Do they use E-verify? As long as your EAD is unexpired or you are in 180 day period, you dont have to go out of your way to notify your residency that your EAD is expired unitl the 6 months extra period also runs out.

Excellent. good to know and that definitely calms me down. My current C9 has expired but I applied to renew in July last year so hopefully it comes soon and is for two years - I have till June 1 to show an unexpired C9 so I think I am fine for me... and for doctor residency. i will ask if they use e-verify when i know where i am headed but we don't find out till march.

Oo.. a doctor in the making! In that case, my advice is worth $500, will send invoice later   Congratulations and best wishes for your residency journey. Also please tell everyone in your residency program that correlation = causation. I have it on authority of  @TBoneTX.

Call the USCIS Contact Center at 800-375-5283 (TTY 800-767-1833) to request expedited processing of your EAD based on your circumstance as a healthcare worker with an EAD that will expire within 30 days or has already expired. To determine whether you are a qualifying healthcare worker, see this DHS advisory memorandum (“Healthcare / Public Health” section, pages 7-9) (PDF). Be prepared to provide evidence of your profession or current employment as a healthcare worker. If the evidence you provide is not sufficient, we may not accommodate your request for expedited processing of your Form I-765. Expedited processing means only that USCIS will process the application faster. }

Jan 2020 filer here, no news whatsoever. Ugh. Nada. The waiting game is nerve wrecking.

and I filed ead renew in April, my ead card expired in October, and have had this message for like forever... Contacted my Congresswoman but no luck yet. Need some positive energy I really need my damn EAD card

Have a same question. My fingerprint also not available on my EAD card and my case is under security check . I hope someone gives answers for the question
