Family,

I have a problem. My C31 was returned to sender - I believe to NBC. They messed up my safe adresses even though I desperately tried to fix them but no luck. What's the next step? How do I fix these? Congress person or what?

Thanks

Most likely it is back to Vermont.

Yes i would say contact your congress person.

Good luck.

Thank you for responding, I did not submit a 485 but i probably have to take it before the visa interview at the embassy.

vaccination Q:

How many shots of the Covid vaccine is required for the medical report? Just one or 3?

Did you all take one shot or 3 shots of Covid vaccine to complete your medical? Since 3 shots is considered fully vaccinated

is the Covid vaccine even a requirement on the vaccination list?

From USCIS policy published on 9/14/21:

On August 17, 2021, the CDC released an update to the Vaccination Technical Instructions for Civil Surgeons, requiring applicants subject to the immigration medical examination to complete the COVID-19 vaccine series (currently one or two doses, depending on formulation) and provide documentation of vaccination to the civil surgeon before completion of the immigration medical examination.

the civil surgeon may indicate that a blanket waiver could apply in cases where the COVID-19 vaccine is not age appropriate, where it is contraindicated, or where it is not routinely available in the state where the civil surgeon practices or where it is limited in supply and would cause significant delay for the applicant to receive the vaccination.

Please see details on USCIS website by clicking on link below (same stuff as above, but wanted to direct you to official source):

https://www.uscis.gov/newsroom/alerts/covid-19-vaccination-required-for-immigration-medical-examinations

As you can see, no mention of booster / third dose, also its impractical as booster only given like 6 months after the first two doses for some kinds of covid vaccines. Also each country has their own supply demand issues, and their own vaccines and USCIS know that. The USCIS certified doc you go to will probably have list of approved vaccines. I think most of the covid vaccine brands are on the WHO / CDC certified list that USCIS and approved medical examiners / civil surgeons follow.

Filed I485/ C31 EAD / AP in Feb 2020 (Stupid lawyer filed C31 instead of C9, and I didnt know EAD codes, didnt know about this VJ forum either)

On H1b status since 2014, H1b 6 years expired in May 2020. Out of status / Period of authorized stay since then.

Amended EAD petition to C9 and filed expedite request for same in mid-may 2020.

C9 EAD approved June 4, 2020.

Biometrics done in Oct 2020.

I485 case transferred to NBC for "faster processing" on September 30, 2020

Filed C9 EAD / AP Renewal petition in February 2021.

Initial Advance Parole (from Feb 2020 application) approved in June 2021.

C31 EAD production update - Nov 1st, 2021.

C31 card delivered to attorney's office on Nov 8, 2021.

I-360 case approved status update - Nov 22, 2021.

No RFE throughout.

Senator's office confirmed via congressional inquiry that the St. Louis office has received the I485 file and is currently awaiting interview scheduling - March 7, 2022

C9 EAD renewal card production case update - July 20, 2022 (took them just 17 months to process)

C9 EAD / AP renewal approval case update on both cases on July 21, 2022.

Combo card delivered to attorney's office on July 27, 2022

Medical exam RFE Drama: Second congressional inquiry sent in early July 2022 for I485. USCIS responded on 8/12/22 to this congressional inquiry that they issued an RFE on 5/24/22 and were waiting for my response. My lawyer denied receiving RFE and there was no such update on online USCIS portal. Lawyer's old firm was safe mailing address on my case. Lawyer changed firms a year after I hired her but did not change mailing address for my case with USCIS, she said she had a deal with her old firm to forward all her clients' mail to her new firm. Old firm denied receiving RFE. Sent another congressional inquiry requesting copy of RFE on 8/17/22. I also got medical exam done on 8/17/22 as I assumed RFE was for medical exam (thanks for this forum's insights.) Yelled at lawyer and threatened her with dire consequences. On 8/18/22 my lawyer's old firm finally found scanned copy of RFE in their "archived scans" (whatever the duck that is) and emailed it to me. It was indeed RFE requesting medical exam. On 8/20/22 I mailed medicals sealed packet with copy of RFE to St. Louis field office. Also sent a notarized letter with the packet - updating safe mailing address to my home address and informing St. Louis field office that I fired my lawyer. Sent similar letter to Vermont Service Center on the same date.

8/23/22 - Fedex confirmed delivery of medicals packet to St. Louis Field Office.

8/26/22: Case update on I485: New Card Is Being Produced

8/29/22:  On August 29, 2022, we approved your Form I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR ADJUST STATUS

9/3/22 green card delivered to attorney's office (they didn't change safe mailing address despite my written requests to FO AND VSC.)

9/6/22 VSC returned AR11 and my letter requesting safe mailing address change. In their letter they said something to the effect of "you can do this online, we wont do it via snail mail request etc." Just posting as an FYI, its weird. Also received I485 approval notice on the same date.

Hello Folks, I'm 2018 filer but no approval yet. My attorney sent EAD renewal with category C09 but USCIS sent back the application because of filling fee ($410) . He want to send it back with the money order but my question is Do I need to send it to Chicago or Vermont  ?  Thanks

Hello, My Attorney sent it to Chicago office,I just confirmed . He's arguing with me that Chicago is the right place to send it to.

Can I ask hiin to send another application to Vermont instead of waiting for return application fron Chicago office ? My EAD will expired next week.

Sending another one is not the best option.

Just wait for them to process. If it's not the right service center, they will still forward it to the right one. In this case, you will only face a little delay.

But at the end, it will still reach the right service center.

new biometrics done October 22nd 2021 (94 days ago)

what should I do? Rush home? There is no specific date on rfe letter. I’m attaching here a copy.
please @sandranj @TBoneTX @Demise @Stillwinning!!!😊 I need guidance.
Also, can I depart back for Italy as soon as I submit medicals!? What happen eventually to my advance parole if they issue a green card!?

yes you can come back and do your medical.

You can always go back after doing the medical as long your AP is valid.

Thanks, In 2019 he sent to Chicago and USCIS sent it back and they sent it back to my house instead of my attorney office.

Unexpected. I'm super happy even if it's extremely stressful. I traveled back home because sure that this won't happen. And here we go... 15 days after my arrival.

I filled i360 and i485 together in November 2018.
