It sucks. Basically, they want to see the original big green and white marriage paper. That marriage cert is so big I don't even know why Ghana doesn't use normal A4 or letter size for the marriage cert. LOL. Either ways, you've responded as quickly as you should so once he submits to the embassy through DHL you should be hearing something positive in no due time. I understand the waiting is frustrating sometimes, but you guys are almost at the end. All the best.

Thank you, it does really suck, especially since I have what they asked for , but with me in the states and him in Ghana that did us no good lol. And my goodness yes, I don't know why they make there marriage certificates so gosh darn big. I almost had to pay over $200 to ship it express because of the size, luckily where I shipped it from she was able to get in the regular size envelope with out damaging it.

It is what is , we can not go back in time and redo the interview. She has asked for documents and passport so that is what we will give them. Back to the waiting game we go, but thank you for the encouragement! We are almost 4 years together, not giving up now!

That's glad to hear you did in the end get your visa. How long did it take after they received your documents for your status to change? I'm avoiding checking it often, as I know nothing will change in the next few days.

thank you 🤗..that depends from what type of documets are for review and also country some consulates take longer some less , i was  at interview at 22 june 2021 (221g start count) and got visa at 26 august 2021  ..thats about 60 days

Thank you for the information, however our case is not going through Administrative review, there are several boxes / reasons listed on the 221g which admin review is one. That is not what checked, she checked submit passport and missing doucments

Someone received 221g to submit original documents from our group on the 4th and after submission had his visa issued within 2 weeks, good luck.

Did you guys get your visa yet? My wife had her interview last week on the 28th and she was missing the original birth certificate, so she sent it with her passport per the CO request via Aramex and it’s been a few days since they received them but still haven’t heard anything yet! I hope you will get your visa soon and of course my wife’s visa too , fingers crossed 🤞

1. He did go to the court house in Ghana, the original can never be reproduced as it is an original, which I have. There is only 1 original and unless I missed the memo, you can't get another "original" certificate?. Not sure where you comment was going ? Furthermore,  He did go to the court house and was given a certified copy. Not just a copy, but certified.

2. Our marriage pictures WERE sent with the original I-130 petition that I filed back in 2019. So they do have them. I sent recent conversation history etc. Our wedding pictures were sent back in 2019. But they were sent today, so now they have them again.

3. On your time line, you are given 2 options. Approval and denied. Hence the reason I chose denial, it wasn't approved?

I do appreciate your input, its reassuring to know that it isn't necessarily a

The certified copy should look exactly  like the original certificate but without the seal! THE BIG green & white certificate! What if something happened to someone’s original certificate? You mean to tell me that they would not accept a certified copy of the marriage certificate from the court?

Hello guys.I went for my interview on 22of March 2023 and I was asked by the consular officer to submit my parents original marriage certificate through dhl to the embassy, and when they receive it they will send me instructions on how to pick up my passport.I went to dhl on 26 to submit the marriage certificate and I was asked to create an account on ustravels.comGh which I got assistance from a staff at dhl.On 30th of May I got an email of an approval to schedule for an IR-2 visa which stated go back into your account to continue scheduling.I was very confused because I had already gone for my appointment and consular officer told me no need to come back to the embassy for another appointment. The 221g letter was ticked only indicating the marriage certificate spot and also the consular officer asked me to leave passport and police report and tax etc with her.I tracked my account for a week after an email of approval to schedule which stated my passport is still with the embassy. After A week it changed to document delivery information and I also tried to check the status of my passport with email and it replied there’s no status update for the passport number submitted.Today is exactly a month I went for my interview and I’m very confused. My case status is refused and last updated date was 2 of June 2023.My mom started this since 2015 which I just got an interview date recently March 20.I was 18 when filed for but now 26.Should I go to the embassy to find out what’s going on because I feel there’s something wrong somewhere.
