Hi everyone,

I'm wondering how long receiving the NVC welcome letter takes in the Philippines right now? How long did it take for everyone here? My noa 2 was approved 3 weeks ago, I still haven't received my welcome letter and am unsure how long it'll take. And from there, does anyone know how long it'll take until interview? I'm getting excited and hope it's gonna be just a few more months from here. And which papers should I be preparing right now while waiting for the welcome letter?

Thanks in advance.

There is no welcome letter from NVC for K1 applicants. You’re going to have to call NVC and get your case number.

For Philippines, at current pace, you’re probably looking at a 2 year wait. Sorry that’s the reality. K1 is not the best choice when it comes to Philippines.

You might want to follow this post. It will give you a better idea on how to go forward and what to expect now.

In the first post is a document linked that should also include instructions on how to update your email address with NVC so that they'll let you know when a case# was created ( that's as close as K1 get to a welcome letter 😊 )

Oh I didn't know that. I asked rapidvisa and they told me to just wait for it.

Is that 2 years from filing or 2 years from noa 2?

Thanks for the reply

NOA2. Right now they’re scheduling interviews for those whose cases were received by Manila consulate in January/February/March of 2020.

:( Okay thanks for the info. We have more time to plan stuff I guess, and have a better idea when things will happen now. Thanks

I hope they ramp up and clear their backlog soon. Good luck in the process!

Also, what several people from Philippines here on VJ did is that they abandoned the K1 process, got married and applied for CR1 (spousal) since spousal visas are prioritized by Manila consulate and there’s relatively no backlog. Just an FYI if you ever get tired of waiting. check out this link regarding the backlog:
