If this is right, what is the direction?  I know we have a dysfunctional government bureaucracy, but this really takes the cake.

 

The FDA will say this week that if you want a COVID-19 vaccine booster shot, it won’t matter whether you were originally vaccinated with another brand. You will soon be able to “mix and match” the vaccine manufacturer to get your booster.

 

The agency is also expected to recommend that people get a booster shot from the same maker as their original vaccination. And for those Americans who received their original vaccine from Johnson & Johnson, there are questions about the correct dosage.

Can someone shed some light on legality of providing booster shots of still EUA vaccines (not that Pfizer is that much better as it’s still EUA and Comirnaty is only available in the mind only). And especially mixing all those?

This ending up as a problem for a bunch of Russians right now. Some people had their fiancé(e)/spouse travel to Europe specifically to get the single dose J&J vax, and now there's talk about the single dose not being enough. The ever changing goalposts around vaccines is maddening.

 

I also saw an elderly person here at a Walgreens demanding to be given a booster. The pharmacist had to argue with him saying it was too early for a booster. I know people are tired of the pandemic and that it's scary for vulnerable groups, but there's no silver bullet to immortality. A bunch of people who think endless boosters are somehow going to "make Covid go away" will be disappointed when that doesn't pan out.

Unless there is 100% compliance with citizens from ALL OVER the world covid vaccines(and boosters and extra shots for compliance in different countries) are here to stay. 

It'll be a constant chasing to reach "normality".

The governments of the World are not in lockstep so it doesn't matter... unless there is a lockdown where no one is able to travel and different countries are honest about their numbers. This is now our new normal. People need to accept this truth. 

I live in Korea. Our numbers are higher than ever, but everyone believes the government is being *more* truthful. No one here actual believes the great numbers we had at the start of the pandemic (the country was fudging the numbers).
