I married a US citizen and we went through all the fun that comes with immigration. We filed for myself (Wife) and my daughter(step-child of sponsor) to immigrate.

From the process perspective it never looked like the two were merged, until we got to the affidavit of support, which the sponsor got to fill just one for both of us (and a single fee). Great! Fast forward and my daughter's case required less documents so it was DQ'd back in March. Mine, with all the requests for duplicates and what not took many months more to DQ. There is roughly 6 months between the two DQ dates.

Now what we've run into is my daughter got her IL last week for an interview in Nov but nothing on mine (I'm assuming I'll be 6 or so months after if we go by the lovely spread sheet maintained here on the website which I appreciate!). My dilemma is shouldn't these be done together? If we do her interview in Nov and mine is 6 or so months after her Visa will have expired.

I'm a little at a loss what to do. Anyone have any experience with this? Google and searching this forum, I haven't found any relavant information that could help steer us in the right direction.

Thank you!

Edit: I hope I posted this in the right place.

These are 2 completely separate immigration cases.  You should have notified NVC that you wanted the cases to interview together....  Now, you must contact the consulate and request that they reschedule your Daughter's interview to coincide with your case.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Well... in case someone else falls upon this. I had already checked with NVC and they said the cases were linked and would be treated as such. I've contacted the consulate and they said they couldn't help me since one case is with them and the other is with NVC. I tried various methods of contacting NVC. I did eventually get a hold of someone @ NVC who said that they would try to call the consulate to attempt to consider the two cases together and haven't heard anything back from them. I also tried the expedite email for NVC... seems all in all I was victim of a system error.

Consulate said multiple times to just attend the interview, so looks like I'll be making that trip (including Medical) twice.

Thanks for your reply.
