Salam. Please I need help.

1: My case of immigration is pending since 2007. NVC keeps on rejecting my nikahnama again and again.

I have 2 copies of nikahnama in urdu(form 2 and form 3) and Nadra marriage certificate computerized (english, urdu print). But they are rejecting them and asking us to upload 3 nikahnamas. I dont understand which is the 3rd one. Can anyone guide me. Our nikah was held in multan in 2002 but we live in karachi and we made the computerized nikahnama from karachi.

Pasting down the messages I am receiving from them👇

(PAKISTAN requires more than one marriage documents. Please replace what you have submitted and submit NADRA marriage certificate, Urdu Nikah Nama, certified English translation Nikah Nama together at the same time. Please use our Document Finder at https://nvc.state.gov/find for acceptable documents guidelines.)

2:  My mother inlaw is the petitioner in our case and she is US citizen but they require a domicile whereas she doesnt have one. She is 75 years old and have never worked or studied in USA.

They keep on sending this message👇

(ZULAIKHA might not have a principal residence or be domiciled in the United States. Please submit proof of domicile. For more information on domicile requirements, visit https://nvc.state.gov/fin.)

I don’t understand your question about the mother in law. She is petitioning for who? How can she petition for you if she isn’t in or have domicile in the US?

Domicile just means showing where she lives,

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

There are three documents:

1. Urdu Nikah Nama

2. English translation of the Urdu Nikah Nama (not an English Nikah Nama)

3. NADRA marriage certificate

You appear to have items 1 and 3, so you need to get an English translation made for the nikah nama

She lives in Pakistan but she is US citizen passport holder. So what they want to see as a domicile proof? Kindly explain this. Thanks

Generally Advocates/Attorneys do this. You can find a good translator in District Courts. Which city are you in?

When will she be going back home?

The domicile proof that NVC requires is documentary evidence that your mother-in-law lives in the US or is maintaining residence in the US.  Being a US passport holder is not enough to sponsor an immigrant.

As others have asked, when is your mother-in-law returning to live in the US?

1) someone already answered

2) They require your mother in laws home address in USA. Having a US passport is not a proof of domicile, because the passport does not have her address.

You can get it translated by a translator, or translate it yourself

  • 1 month later...

Nikkah nama needs to be translated from a certified area so yes have it translated in english from any place that can put a certified stamp on it.

as for domicile- she needs to be living in the USA, as in home address of USA and bills or such things. But according to what you said, she is in Pakistan, she might not be enough. Also her financial situation needs to be strong so if that is not strong, that might be a problem too. Anyways people already answered your questions. Hope that is enough.
