Hi guys,

I recently went to the n400 biometrics appointment. The lady who took the photo was just rushing everything. She said look at the camera and then just took the photo immediately, and the camera angle was a bit weird as well. So let's just say that the photo wasn't great.

I looked up if it's possible to ask the officer during the interview to use another photo on the naturalization certificate(If I bring the photos to the interview). Some old posts here were saying the officer may grant your request and use a different photo on NC, and some posts were saying try asking that at the oath ceremony. (Just to be sure, they want passport-style photos, right?)

I was wondering if anyone here had changed their photos recently, and if so, please share your experience here. I would really appreciate it!

Also, just out of curiosity, is the photo on NC a digitally printed photo? Or is it a real photo attached to the cert with the glue? Should I scan the photo that I would like to use on NC and then upload it online as evidence just to be safe?

I guess another question is, after using NC for applying for your first passport, did you guys ever use it again? What about if you want to apply for some federal jobs, home loans, etc?

Thanks for all your help!

Unlike photos on Passports or IDs that you use frequently, no need to worry about NC photo even if yours shows up like one eye looking up and the other looking down. You may use it once or twice in your entire life. It just gonna sit locked up somewhere the entire life.
