Tax questions and residency (split)

I am a USC and have been in Canada for the last year and a half as a visitor while we wait for my wife’s interview.  I work for a us company but my accountant wants to file my 2020 us taxes and claim that I am a Canadian resident for tax purposes.  I know I’ll need to bring a copy of my 2020 tax return to my interview so wanted to see if this could cause any complications.

Sure.  Figured it belonged here because we’re DQ and it’s something that changed before my interview (similar to many of the posts here with people changing jobs, traveling, reestablishing domicile, etc).  Will open a new thread.
