Traveling to US on tourist visa while waiting for DQ

I and my partner are debating on whether I could travel on tourist visa (granted a couple of years back) to USA for a couple of weeks, while we wait on documents review by NVC.

Has anyone tried traveling during this period+pandemic? I understand the risk faced at POE but just wanted to know if anyone has successfully traveled? 

Any help is appreciated!

As long as you follow the requirements for entering the US as to Covid testing, it should not be an issue.
