We have been trying for almost 1 month to get an embassy appointment In San Salvador.  Is anyone else waiting on an embassy appointment or has had experience with when appointments become available each month. We call everyday and check the website multiple times a day but there is nothing available.   He is going on 5 months out of the country and we are desperate.  Any information would be appreciated.

Yes my husband was actually given an appointment for June 16.  He had had his medical exams on June 9th.  When he went to the embassy the day of his appointment they would not see him because his medical exams were not ready.  The doctor that did the medical exam sent him for some follow up exams that lasted through September.  On September 17th he was given the go ahead by the doctor to schedule another embassy appointment and we have been calling everyday and checking the website the maximum times allowed and there are no appointments available.  His medical exams will expire on December 9th but I’m not sure how long it will take to get an appointment.  We are both growing desperate at this point because he just wants to be able to go home.

Maybe try checking at random times during the day? And right after midnight? I read on a different thread they sometimes release more appointments randomly. Can your lawyer submit a request to the embassy?

they must have changed the rule because my husband had his interview mid august and they said it was fine he didn’t have his medicals. He just had to send back his passport once medicals were done .

Yes our lawyer has submitted a request via email every few days, however we only get an automated reply.  Thank you we will try switching up and trying different times.  I have checked right after midnight but no luck yet.  Is it possible for you to send me the link to the other thread you saw?  I’m still new here and don’t know how to use much yet.  Thank you again.

Hi! Yes I’ll search through and see if I can find it but I’m pretty new here as well :/. Try in the search field at the top of the page “rescheduling.” It’s a lot of different countries but i Think the process is similar and some ppl have similar situations.

Have you tried emailing them at CongenSanSal@state.gov?

we usually get the same automatic reply since our case has entered the administrative processing black hole ….. but it can help maybe for you guys since you’re just trying to reschedule an original appt.

also try contacting your state senator. They have a constituent form usually on their websites and they can reach out to the embassy on your behalf .

Of course! There was another post (somewhere) of another couple I think going through the same thing , their interview was denied because of medicals . But somewhere the embassy must have realized the doctors down here had limited availability so they changed the rule.

keep checking and I wish you guys the best of luck. We are towards our third month here and the waiting is just quite stressful.
I would keep emailing as much as possible but keep it polite and friendly :)

Hello,  we finally got our embassy appointment.  I am replying for anyone else that may go through the same issue with the information I was able to find.  It appears that the embassy in El Salvador  makes the appointments available around the 15th of every month.  The availability of appointments changes through out the day.  For example the day we got the appointment my husband called at 8am no appointments available.  I checked the website at 10:30ish and no appointments available then at 12:15pm appointments were available so it appears that they open the appointments after 12pm.  I just wanted to post this because I know how stressful it can be waiting to get another appointment if they wouldn’t see you for the first one due to medical results.  I hope this information is useful to someone.
