Kind of on topic, back in my firefighter days, we had a couple runs to the local cat lady's house.  In this case she was married, but apparently it was not that solid.  Anyway, on the last visit, the husband apparently burned the mattress.  The cop that also responded asked him why he set the mattress on fire in the backyard of his home and his response was this:  'well, the wife asked me if I had ever cheated on her, and I said yes, 20 years ago, he had an affair, and the wife demanded he get rid of the mattress.  He said that with all the dreaded cats in the house, he felt the safest way to get rid of it was to set it on fire'.  No animals were harmed by his actions.

Apparently I'm a cat lady, but I'm not really into cats. I guess I got lucky in life. I married precisely the type of man I wanted. There's nothing wrong with standards if you are realistic about them. Some people could use a bit more standards in their life.

As I have grown older, I find compatibility, peace, and common interest are way more important than looks

Oh certainly. Intelligence too, both emotional and actual book smarts. I once had it in my head in my youth that a beefcake tall guy was just what I wanted. No, it was absurd. He was vain, inconsiderate, vapidly empty, and not compatible in temperament nor intelligence. Bad experience woke me up very quickly. And I've seen it go on with my female friends endlessly... bouncing from mistake to mistake, never the wiser.

I'm not sure this site is on the up and up guys... I've included screenshots of my "wishlist"- I went for $20K as that's just under the 125% poverty guideline for household of 2... and I've got a 28.3% chance of finding someone... I'm "Down to Earth".

P.S I'm short so anyone over 5'1 is "tall" in my opinion.

The issue is that there are not enough men to meet women's  requirements, instead of them settling perhaps men need to step up?
