I applied for my I-795 removal of green card conditions in December, 2018. Finally have an interview scheduled next week. I applied for N-400 in July. I'm nervous. we haven't been asked for any further evidence during the process. Is this normal procedure? Anyone know what to expect? Thanks for any help or advice.

I put this in wrong section- sorry, can it be moved to the right section please and I meant I-751 not I-795. Thanks.

It is taking a long time for your case but you are far from alone, local field offices have been really backed up so that is why it took some time to get an appointment for the interview.

If you got your original green card on a CR1 visa (got a green card at your home country) then it is perfectly normal to be interviewed for your ROC case. I751 applicants and spouses that did an adjustment of status in the US to get a green card rarely get a ROC interview as they were interviewed together by USCIS for the AOS already.

You need to go to the interview with your spouse if you have a joint i751 application pending. You should consider bringing some updated evidence of your bonafide evidence (updated joint tax returns transcripts of most recent year(s)) , updated bank statements, updated lease, children birth records, driver licenses for each.

K1 Visa Arrived USA July 2017

Married August 2017

AOS Approved July 2018

Filed for i751 joint application May 2020

Fingerprints reused October 2020, and February 2021 and June 2021 (Yes 3 fingerprint notices)

Case move to National Benefits Center December 2020 for quicker processing from California Service Center

Oct 2021 out of processing time inquiry made, response May 5th 2022 that our i751 case will be addressed at our n400 interview

Combo interview May 16th 2022, in Sacramento

Approved June 08, 2022

Filed for Naturalization May 2021

Fingerprints reused May 2021

Combo interview May 16th 2022, in Sacramento,

Approved June 08, 2022

Oath Ceremony completed June 29th 2022

Thank-you. I think the I-751 interview finally got scheduled because I put in my N-400 application in, in July! I have had to get 2 adit stamps since my 18 month extension ran out!

I got interviewed for CR1 visa at the London Embassy- they wouldn't let my husband in so I was interviewed alone.

I filed with a Lawyer so know I have all of the right documents and like I said, they haven't asked for more info. I am taking all the documents from my N-400 application as I only filed that in July so all updated taxes, joint bills etc in there. Plus, I'm taking everything like joint bank statements for the last 3 months. My lawyer is going too. Yes, they said on the letter that my husband needs to come too. We know that we have a good faith marriage but it's still nerve-wracking!

There is a chance you could have a combo interview (i751 interview and a n400 interview) for both applications for the same appointment; If so, be prepared to answer the civics questions and bring your spouse's original birth certificate or citizenship certificate, your passport (current and old), info about out of US travel dates, any other documents needed for the n400 interview.

I'm sure either way you will do great at the interview or interviews, good luck.

I'd be happy to get both out of the way at once! The N-400 doesn't show anything about interview but I'm prepared just in case the unexpected happens!

Thank-you. I'll update progress after the interview too so that the other long-term waiters know what to expect!

My N-400 case history as of now:

Case Is Being Actively Reviewed By USCIS September 8, 2021
We scheduled you for a biometrics appointment August 14, 2021
We received your Form N-400, Application for Naturalization, and sent you a receipt notice.

I was approved on the spot. Very nice officer. Was asked how we met, date and where we got married, why did we choose to get married in another country. Asked each others DOB's. My husband was asked about his driving license- he renewed it late because they wouldn't accept his birth certificate so he had to get an embossed copy. Did we always live at the address we do now. She asked me my phone number. At the end gave me and my lawyer a copy of the approval notice and said the new green card would come 2-4 weeks from now. Couldn't do my naturalisation because they didn't have the paperwork. Oh and she asked where Cyprus was- we got married there!
