Hi there,

For those who expedited their work permit, how long after having your “Expedite request received” did they come back to you to ask for evidence?

thanks!

You’re supposed to provide the evidence (written job offer) at the time you request the expedite.   They will not expedite just because you ask them to.

Let me explain this:

I have requested my 765 expedited with these 2 reasons: Job offer + Financial Hardship. I explained them the situation on emma. They said ''Ok, we're processing it an we'll be back to you if we need any additional informations.'' It's been 6 weeks and my 765 shows ''Expedite request received'' but they never contacted me. So yeah I am supposed to send job offer etc.. But how? lol they literally told me not to send anything and that they would be back eventually if they needed anything.

Granted this was two years ago at this point, but the first time I requested an expedite they never got back to me, so I requested it again after about two weeks. I think it took about 4 days to get the email with instructions on what to send and where to fax the information.

Apparently there was an error with the first request. If it's been six weeks, I'd probably try a new request.

Not true in my case. See instructions in the link below from USCIS. First, you will have to call them to explain to the officer. He will read you what’s the basis for your expedite and you will select one. Then, he will give you a Referral ID. The officer told me that I would get an email for further instructions. I got that email one month later where to fax my proof. Below are the events in my quest to expedite EAD:

Filing date: July 16

Expedite request: Sept 3

Email received from USCIS to fax proof: Oct 1

Faxed proof: Oct 1

Current status today, Oct 16th: Still waiting for the approval.
