It's snowing in Buenos Aires for the first time in almost a century!!!

La otra nevada en Buenos Aires

La Capital sólo tiene registrada una nevada en toda su historia; fue el 22 de junio de 1918

El día había amanecido frío, pero pocos podrían imaginarse que ese día serían testigos de la única nevada registrada hasta hoy en la ciudad de Buenss Aires.

Era 22 de junio de 1918 y de a poco un manto blanco fue cubriendo la ciudad. La precipitación fue tan intensa que la nieve acumulado en el suelo sólo se derritió dos días después.

Según los registros de la época ese día cayeron entre 8 y 10 centímetros de nieve.

Se trató, según dio testimonio LA NACION en sus páginas de "una nieve auténtica, una nieve europea".

"En la calzada, en los canteros de las plazas, en las aceras del Este y del Norte, por efecto del Pampero fue creciendo la capa de fina lana hasta varios centímetros de espesor. El cuadro no dejó de tener nada de lo que, en pintura, fotografías, crónicas y libros, habíamos aprendido que hace la nieve. La plaza del Congreso era una verdadera plaza europea, con su césped y macetas completamente nevados. La reproducción del Pensador, de Rodin, dejaba caer las colgaduras como blancas estalactitas, que tanto conoce el original", señalaba el cronista en las páginas del diario.

La nieve hizo que la ciudad viviera una fiesta que nunca en su historia había conocido.

"El hermoso fenómeno no se repitió. La nieve había desaparecido completamente, para volver quién sabe dentro de cuántos años", se preguntaba el redactor de la nota.

La respuesta a esta incierta pregunta llegó hoy: 89 años pasaron para que la ciudad fuera testigo nuevamente de los copos blancos que caen del cielo.

This is def. great logic, I like this alot. It is like saying that Global Warming is for sure, with out a doubt, 100% true because of all the hot tempatures in the Southwest and West of the United States for the last week or two. Tell that one to Busch, errrmmmmm, GWBUSCH
