I may have worked out my flash issues by downloading the latest acrobat for editing the I-864.  But I have still  an issue on household size. line 1 and 2 are autopopulated to 1 so total on line 8 is 2.  line 3 is if married and IF I put a 1 there the total goes to 3 on line 8.  Someone advised me to leave married at 0 back in July but this doesn't seem right.

On part 6 as self employed.

Line  5 I don't consider myself retired although some people do. Haha

L:ine 6 unemployed date... do I put the date of my last company employment or leave blank

Re-read Part 5:

When filling out the I-864 to sponsor your spouse, you do not enter "1" for married - you counted him already.

Remember the form is designed so anyone can fill out using free acrobat without editable software. If you feel the need to edit it, you are doing something wrong.

I believe the OP had issues with the fillable form itself and had to update Acrobat in order to enter anything on the fillable fields.

yes previously no matter what I entered line 8 stayed at 1 and was unchangeable electronically. So I printed out the page and used white out and hand input it. I appears I had it correct before. in my original submission.  In the instructions it does say not to count the same person twice and uses example of line 3 and line 6.

IF they added the word Below are for   to the bold line  Persons NOT sponsored in this affidavit

or if they added   a bit on line 3 about it ok to not enter your wife here if  she is the recipient.   my mind must work different than most or something.

If you used white out on your original submission that could have been the entire reason for the I864 RFE (white out is not accepted).

I haven't read your original post though so I don't know all the deets.

Three should be blank not zero.

Then, like most of us have done, you can indicate why you left it blank in part 8 additional info.

"...thus I left it blank".

thanks guys... I used white out then made a copy. That should not have been my problem.  I did have a couple real  errors.  used her maiden name not married name .for some reason I could not download a copy without a 1 stick in line 8 for total household size.  maybe I was using some other pdf reader app.

I guess they know your married if they look at the file and see a K1 and now a AOS for the same petitioner and recipient.

I still have a question

On part 6   I consier myself self employed.

Line  5 I don't consider myself retired although some people do. Haha

I had this same issue on household size. I ended up with an RFE for the form I-865 and one of the points was to make sure we had correct household size.

If it's just my wife and I size should be 2 correct?

I will have to explain that like others did.

I was also missing a W2 so that was likely the main deficiency.

I also received a RFE for the I865 Affidavit of Support, although they said I need to properly document my household size but they also said in the letter that I don't meet the income requirements of 125% poverty level. I am a little confused about that. I am a nurse and earn $67,000 per year and it's just me and my husband in our household, why does that not meet the income? But looking at other's comments, I think I probably messed up on the household count. My question is do I meet the income requirements base on my income? And should I just resubmit the form with the evidence or find a joint sponsor?
