No Update on MyUSCIS After N-400 Interview

My wife recently had her N-400 interview at the USCIS location in Harlingen, Texas on September 28th. Her interview went well, and she was told that she passed and that they would send her a notice to come back for her Oath Ceremony. She was not given any time-frame on that.

The following day September 29th, she received an e-mail from USCIS titled 'We Have Taken Action on Your Case'. It instructed her to log in to see the update. She logged in, and saw that there was no update. It still says "Interview Was Scheduled". We have been checking daily and watching our mail, but have not seen any updates from USCIS. We have not had any technical issues with the site so far, so I am a bit concerned. We sent an e-mail to them, and they sent us an unhelpful generic response back, which told us to "wait 72 hours for an update on your case". We waited another 72 hours with no update. We also tried calling the USCIS 1-800 number, only to find out that USCIS no longer has phone support. Just that useless AI system that hangs up on you when you ask for a Representative. Her Oath Ceremony might have already been scheduled, and we have no way of seeing the notice.

So here is my question. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there anything else we can do?

You can call the support line and say “ technical

support” that will redirect you to a live rep.

just make sure you call during usual working hours 8 to 5

Looks like you're right! I called again earlier today and got it to work. I had to say "technical support" about three times, and it kept reading the same unhelpful prompt to me. Then, on the third time, it put me through to a person. What a ridiculous system.

They informed us that the MyUSCIS site has not updated because her interview has not been scheduled yet, but the ceremony scheduling can take up to 4 months out. I really hope it does not take that long, since we will be moving soon. But at least now we know what is going on.

Did you get any update?

I am on the same boat, I had my interview on 08/31, it was recommended for approval, but still no change showing online, and I did not get any mail from them, only the e-mail saying "'We Have Taken Action on Your Case", but nothing changed on the website. I am worried because I never got the mail about the Biometrics earlier, so I am wondering if any mail got lost again and I have missed the oath ceremony.

Does anybody know if the status changes online when the oath ceremony is scheduled?

I can't get anybody on the phone either.. And the trick to ask for technical support seems to not work anymore, the bot just tells to send them an e-mail through the website.

Thank you

Yes it did, on Oct 14th. It now says:

We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice for Receipt Number XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX, with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony. You should receive your notice within 30 days of its mailing date. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

If your case is that far out of date, I would send them an e-mail or keep trying to call during business hours. Otherwise, just watch your mail for a notice. That never fails (in theory).

I e-mailed them last week, no answer yet...

And the website doesn't let me do an inquiry unless it is after 120 days.

I'll keep waiting.

It's not an inquiry (yet). You would just need to reach out for Technical Support, since it's just a website issue.

If anyone is wondering, we are still in same position of waiting for an Oath Ceremony to be scheduled. They sure do take their sweet time about scheduling these ceremonies...

They replied the support ticket saying "is pending and is within our current processing time", which is still on applications from "May 15, 2020". But looking at other timelines from here (Philadelpha), people that did the interview after me already had their oath ceremony, so I don't know what could be holding it up.

We're still stuck on 'Oath Ceremony Will Be Scheduled' as of October 14th. Hoping for an update soon. 😑

Here's an update, for anyone who is curious. We did not hear from USCIS for quite a while. By December 15th, we decided that this wait has gone on long enough, and we sent a letter to the local USCIS field office. We let them know that we intend to move in the next few months, and that this will inevitably cause issues if she does not have her ceremony before the move.

While they did not directly respond to us, we actually received a ceremony scheduling notice about 8 days later. I am pretty sure that helped. My wife was naturalized just a few days ago. Maybe someone out there will find this helpful. Good luck.

Congratulations! Sure is a relief to be over the long wait!

Hi Gavin, thanks for the insight! I had my interview around the same time you did, and I am still waiting on my oath as well. I think I might follow your course of action.

Did you mail your letter straight to the local USCIS field office address, or did you specifically mention the name of your immigration officer, etc.?

Thanks!
