It always struck me as weird that governments in the USA and at least one other country let pharmacy techs inject vaccines.

That is a tad wierd. No matter the vaccine there is always a small risk factor.

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Remember when there was a problem getting the vaccine into arms and Biden authorized medical students, vets, dentists, and various retired medical folks to give the injections?  I briefly looked into it but decided I didn't want anything to do with it.

Sad to think you feel someone's kids' hearts failing is "made sexy".   I pray the kids don't suffer needlessly.

Personally, I wouldn't get any vaccine from my walgreens because I know how bad things are in there. They can't even do the medications right half the time, but they have also cut the hours of staff and a lot of them were already burnt out. Mistakes happen.

We were vaccinated at our local Rite-Aid by the pharmacist herself. I think it really depends on where you are, sad to say. I know our pharmacist and while she's a little bristly at times she's also great with advice and always takes time to talk through new medications with me. 

 

There's a CVS at the end of our block that was also offering jabs and I passed, even though the Rite Aid was a mile away as opposed to 400 ft away. I know what they're like in there. Competent at the cash register, some of the time.
