Big thing now is TWO-stage prep.  The sadist who came up with that needs to be strung up.

 

Had my last two scopes without sedation.  When being wheeled in, got to serenade the population in the hall with "Looks like we got us a CON-VOY..."

 

Best benefit to no sedation is immediately driving one's self to Costco to devour all but one slice of a mongo-sized pepperoni 'za in one sitting.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

Colonoscopies are not just for the old. Colon cancer hits younger people, and so the recommendations to have one sooner than later are always revised, especially for family history (a key word when fighting insurance companies). The prep is a foul chemical liquid put into a big glass of water, and must be downed completely numerous times. Suprep or Moviprep are commonly offered. The nurse said basically in some people the body cannot handle such a rapid loss of fluids + with the fasting (it thinks you're being poisoned... well...) - you can get chills, vomiting, BP drop, and fainting.

Agreed. It's a fight with mom every time she needs to do it now compared to the old way. Old school methods were actually a lot less harsh, but doctors found it didn't get the patient 'clean' enough. I know someone in the business and the rep would come in trying to push Moviprep, which they found had the worst reviews from patients, and they acted like it tasted great in pharma tests. They asked if the rep had actually tasted it and did they wanna have a go right now? 😉 You are the second person I've heard of not having the sedation. Not me man... just knock me out because I don't want to know.
