Hi, I hope everyone is well and reunited with their loved ones.

I'm Mohammed  or Moe.

Im divorced for 3 years now and have a child that we share custody but my ex has the right to claim my child on taxes as per our divorce agreement.

I want to apply for my coming to be wife an immigrant cr1 visa , and i ask this early because of my financial situation that I'm worried will be the rock in our road .

My main income comes from my businesses that are established and growing, however i draw from them according to my needs and reinvest the excess back into the business. so my  income does not show much on my tax return. around 25k - to 30k for the past three years.

The questions that i cant find  clear answers to,

Should i start to draw more to show on my tax return or what the best approach i should take from now to be ready for requirements?

the count of my household dependents will be 3 my child , wife and me or 2 since we share custody and i don't claim my cild on tax return , Im asking to adjust my income to meet the requirement.

Thank you

Your child will count in your household size regardless of what you wrote above.

If you are self employed, your current income comes from the "Total Income" line of your most recent federal tax return.  If you are an employee of a business you own, your evidence of current income comes from an official pay stub.  Calculate gross for one pay period times the number of pay periods in a full year.
