If you are a US citizen, it takes on average about 1-2 years for a spousal visa.

If you are a green card holder, it takes about 2-3 years.

VisaJourny has Guides that you should read.

As the above says

but that is only is the petition is approved and interview is successful and not denied

Reasons for a denial in that embassy:

1.   age difference of 10 years or more

2.   not enough time together to show quality relationship

3.   married on the 1st trip to meet the person

4.  income is not sufficient to qualify and joint sponsor is needed

5.  proofs of a bona fida marriage do not satisify the CO at interview

6.  immigrant has poor English skills

7.  immigrant has little understanding of the Person in the US and the family

8.  immigrant has no idea what he will do in the US (work or study)

9.  religious differences

A legal marriage in Tunisia, with a valid marriage certificate, will be recognized as valid for US immigration purposes.  No need for any such "marriage registration" in Chicago or anywhere else in the US to start the visa process.  Just make sure to submit a copy of the Tunisian marriage certificate when you file the I-130 petition.  Check here for a description of the document (Certificat de Marriage) acceptable for US immigration -- https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/Visa-Reciprocity-and-Civil-Documents-by-Country/Tunisia.html

No need to register your marriage in the USA.  You are already married everywhere.

Now is the time to study the spouse visa guide.  Click on the word "guides" at the top of any page here.  Then, download and become an A-Student of both the I-130 form and it's separate PDF of instructions.  This is a do it yourself/help site, with emphasis on self.  Please start on your homework first, so you'll know what to ask about.
