Please don't twist my words. I said it is one of the things that makes us most human. As you just said last night, werds mean things. Use mine when you're trying to capture what I've said. :)

We are of course free to disagree, but I cannot imagine a world without art in any form. No music, no paintings, no photography, no sculpture or design. Sounds really dreary to me.

You get it to huh . Sometimes it's best not to bite the hook. Too much work

Your memory is lapsing.  Perhaps it's past your bedtime?

My memory is not the best I admit, but I don't recall Teddy being here recently.

Do you remember a poster named Hal Ming. You style reminds me of him.

Sorry all our playing aside I know that was below the belt

Don't think I knew her?  Ming Dynasty perhaps?

It's ok. The only thing below my belt these days is my Buddha Belly.  When you get to be my age, you'll understand.

Nature is far more beautiful than man-made art.  But people who choose to live in cities will never fully comprehend real art.

To see an actual sunset over the Panamint Mountains, or the Tasman Sea is much more satisfying than seeing an artist interpretation of it.

The whole world is art, who needs another's interpretation of that?  Btw, I see someone paid around 18 million pounds sterling for a shredded piece of art.  Makes as much sense as someone paying $500,000 for a Hunter Biden paint by numbers piece.

I'd give you 1,000 reps if I could.  While there is nothing wrong with someone trying to re-create nature, it typically falls short of the natural beauty.  Watching the sun set from Mount Monserrate in Bogota, or watching the salmon jumping in an ice-cold river in Alaska, or hiking on Jeju Island in Korea... I have never seen anything "artistic" that even comes close.

But, it's really a false equivalence to say a sunset is better than a Rembrandt. Apples and oranges in my opinion. Both are great. The amount of skill and labor that went into Rembrandt's works probably blows me away more because I know how hard it is to do what he did, especially etching. If you understand the difficulty of the medium it's a bit easier to appreciate.

I get that.  As a person who is about as artistic as a range hen, I can only look on in wonder as my children draw/paint beautiful creations.  My brain simply cannot do it.  Heck, even elephants in Thailand have more artistic ability than I.  Skills.
