What happens to my Global Entry now I have a Green Card??

I finally got my Green Card earlier this year, but I still have 2 years left on my Global Entry.

As a British citizen I never received a physical Global Entry card but I got a trusted traveller number that enabled me to use the GE kiosks on visits to the USA prior to marrying my US citizen wife.

Obviously once my K-1 visa process started I had to go through customs as normal showing my Advance Parole document etc, but I've had TSA PreCheck for all domestic flights and I heard once you get your Green Card you can get a physical GE card and go back to using the kiosks when you return to the USA?

Is this true and do I have to approach my local Global Entry office to process this?

You would have to go to an Enrollment Center in-person first: https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/global-entry/international-arrangements "If a Global Entry member obtains a new visa, or obtains a new petition for a work visa, the member must notify CBP in-person at a Global Entry enrollment center. A member must visit an enrollment center to have CBP add visas and/or update visa information." Then ask them there if you can request the GE card during that visit or if it has to be requested online: https://www.cbp.gov/travel/trusted-traveler-programs/global-entry/frequently-asked-questions "may request a Global Entry card via their TTP account for a $15 fee. Login to your TTP account and click on the "Manage Membership" button. Next, click on the "Request for Global Entry Card" button. Finally, complete the application and pay the $15 fee."

As noted you go to global entry office to get your green card registered. At that point the document you use for the airport GE kiosks is your green card.  You cannot use your passport.  Nor does a global entry card work at a GE kiosk at an airport.

A global entry card is mostly useless but I suppose those who frequently enter the USA by land and sea might find them useful. As I recall, to use them by land you have to register your vehicle in advance.

Otherwise a global entry card is good for:

* ID for TSA

* Getting into the priority lane at CATSA lines

Not worth the hassle.  You will get one when you renew GE.

Whatever you do, do not attempt to use the GE kiosk or the GE queue until you take your green card to the GE office.  If you do, you could have your GE membership permanently revoked.
