Hi all, my wife has waited almost 2 months for a new passport. We used her married name so far, but all she has is the older passport, with many excuses for why it is delayed.

Does anyone with experience know if its fine to have a new last name in the DS-260, with an old passport in the interview, if the new one doesn't come out. If I put the old name in the DS-260 is that as issue? I put other last names, btw, from the beginning.

Thanks in advance!

Hi!

When I needed a new passport during the pandemic I had to schedule a last minute appointment at the Boston Passport office. I brought all my documents and a money order. They ended up not recharging me and made my updated passport in 2 hours. I would make an appointment and bring marriage certificate etc.

Thank you for answering.

My wife, the beneficiary is in Nigeria, so her passport process is a little more tricky. It seems this would best to be done before application, but for sake of starting the application as soon as possible, everything was started with her old one. She will bring all documents new and old to the interview so she should be covered.
