Thanks everyone for your inputs. I think the plan I've in mind is via intermediaries to:

  1. Secure other sponsors and convince the in-laws to voluntarily leave and surrender their LPR using the I-407. Then a new petition can be filed with the new sponsors.
  2. Ensure that they are working towards a successful citizenship test.
  3. If none of the above are feasible, monitor and report deportable offenses.

You can employ them for 40 quarters (give or take since they have SS credits for some of their jobs).

If I employ them, then I would need to pay part of their SSN tax in order for them to get credits. The SSA only credits a max of 4 credits for $5,880 earned in a year. That's 10 years and they only have credit for 1. Plus they have no service they can provide for me to employ them.

yes. 7.65 percent.  What’s the issue?

so $57K each including the employer side of social security tax.  Seems cheap to me.

True based on your OP there doesn’t seem to be much they would be useful at.  Plus they appear to not live nearby.  So you could put  up a web security camera for your front door and pay them to monitor the camera for you.

That would be the last resource. As you mentioned in another reply, they may receive ill advice over there that could lead to a deportable offense. However, that would be extreme case as at the end of the day they are still the people who brought my wife to this world.

I didn't catch the part they were your wifes parent, yea I wouldn't worry about it too much, it's more of a family affair then.  As I said I don't ever see USCIS come after anyone for signing support papers on the I-864 and if they ever did I suspect it would be thrown out of court.  I heard a CO at the Philippines Embassy state the I-134 you do when bringing a K1 was never required and non enforceable

There is no mechanism for the I-864 sponsors to "boot" the in-laws out of the country.

Sure enough is if they commit a crime serious enough, or if the courts deem it serious.  I watched this guy from England finally get kicked out of the USA, Took almost 20 to kick him out of the country.   How long should a man pay? Or can he ever fully repay his debt to society? - What Would Jack Do
