the possible reasons for requesting an expedite.

You don't hunt for the reasons. If you mention why you want your beneficiary to come to you asap and you will get good guidance on if that's a valid reason.

Apologies for sounding I was hunting for reasons.

To be completely transparent, one of the reasons why I'm thinking of getting an expedite is due to the fact that my wife and I are trying to have a baby. She's had a few miscarriages and I would feel more comfortable and I know she'll have better care if she was here in the US. Unfortunately, we don't have the luxury of time to wait since we are about that age wherein the chances of pregnancy are decreasing.

WE have been DQed since Aug of last year and we are just waiting for an interview date at the local US embassy.

No harm in asking I would think that was weak but you never know.

yes if that is the reason for expedite, you write a letter with supporting doctor documents or fertility treatments or others that explain the medical condition. USCIS will review all the evidence and make a decision. nothing is guaranteed unless expedite is approved.

AGain it depends of the consulates are open in your country of origin. if consulates are not open than nothing can be done..

duh

This seems more of a life choice or medical choice and not a medical emergency.  But you can always try.  Contact your embassy with your expedite request.  They should let you know what evidence you would need to submit.

Yeah, I know it's not a medical emergency per se, that's why I thought of asking what reasons are typically being approved for expedite so I can more or less gauge if it's worth the trouble.

So, I just write a letter to the embassy or NVC (since on CEAC it indicates that my documents , although documentarily approved, are still with NVC)?

Thanks for all your responses.

there is no golden ticket to get expedite approval. as other people are saying, you are fishing for the golden ticket which there is none. if your letter are convincing , they will approve.  you can keep trying.

looks like your case is held at embassy so you search for your embassy info to expedite..

duh

It stays at NVC until the embassy notifies them that they have capacity to process more cases.  The gatekeeper is the embassy.  Email the embassy.

Provide a good reasoning on why you can't travel there and why she needs to be here upon successful pregnancy. Just saying she gets better healthcare in the US than there during pregnancy might not be enough. People are born throughout the world. Remember US is not even in the top 100 countries with highest birth rate.
