My wife is a Colombian national. I am a US citizen.  We are waiting for approval. After approval and we are in the US can she return to Colombia to give birth and stay a couple of months?  She is not pregnant now but could be when we arrive in the US.  Thanks.

you just applied August 2021 so u have about a 2 year wait to get to interview

yes,  if within the 1st 2 trimesters and she has no medical issues ,  she could return to birth in Columbia ( to answer your question)

the airlines are the ones with the restrictions about flying when pregnant

there would be paperwork to do to get the baby's US citizenship and passport

Possibly.  Upon return to the USA, CBP will determine if she is a returning resident or arriving alien. If to that point she has spent more of her time as an LPR outside the USA than inside, she might be let off (with or without a warning) and processed as a returning resident.  Or she might be allowed in as an arriving alien and get a notice to appear.

I wouldn’t risk it personally, but then again I know of cases where people left for years and CBP didn’t bat an eye.

Visa journey has a June 22, 2022 for I-130 approval.  Is there a long wait after that?

Don’t know what long means but you have NVC processing, waiting to to get a consular interview, and then waiting to get the actual visa.  Some cases take under a year.  Some take years.  I suspect there are cases that have been in administrative processing for more than a decade.

That's for petition approval, not visa in hand.  You have the NVC process to go through and then the wait for the interview.  Interview queues have been impacted by COVID related shutdowns, but if the queues clear and there are no further shutdowns, you may have visa in late 2022.

I don't blame her, she is smart, she knows if she keeps up her retirement/health insurance payment, it will cost her next to nothing, to have a baby in Colombia. My wife went back several times to Colombia, to have hand surgery done in Colombia, when she was a green card holder. Everyone is covered in Colombia. the medical and and big farma have brainwashed the American public into believing the US has the best health care system. yes the best, but not affordable to everyone. The politicians making the laws, have the best private health care in the world. When are people going to wake up, they are just scamming us.

it is taking 18 months to 2 years at this time

should say if you plan for her to go back for the birth (even in 2nd trimester)  she would be out of the country for an extended time (last 3 months and time needed to get US passport for the new baby and all) /she has to watch for length of time outside US

I am a US citizen who is a legal resident of Colombia.  I filed a CR1 petition for my Colombian wife.  She is now pregnant and the baby is due about

the time for the approval of the petition.  Can we postpone or delay going to the US?  What is the downside?

As you were told previously, petition approval is just a first step. You have NVC process and consulate interview ahead. It will take a while. You can simply not submit the DS-260 and other required documents to NVC until you’re ready. Just make sure you keep contact with NVC  once a year so they won’t terminate your petition.
