Hello there;

to all my friends in visa journey;

my father interview is next week, we did the medical exam today; I appreciate if you help me with last minute preparation please 🙏:

1. Do we need a fresh negative PCR to get into embassy again, we are fully vaccinated and have 4 negative PCR within last 8 days!

2. Since my father is elderly, can I be next to him step by step for interview? I am US citizen… I know they only accept applicant but it’s written for elderly applicants they might consider a company….

any help considering interview prep will significantly help us! God bless…

1. I've not heard of any such requirement to enter an embassy but check your embassy's website just in case.

2. It also depends on the specific embassy, some allow it, others don't. Usually most embassies provide local translators or some COs speak in local language.

2. Abu Dhabi embassy specific instructions say

  • Special Needs Visitors: Applicants may bring ONE person to help if they are elderly, disabled, or a minor child.

There seems to be no specific definition of what “elderly” is so I guess you can try go with.

3.what are major reasons for someone to get medically rejected?! I know one of them is “ tuberculosis “ ….but what about other reasons? Also , can someone get medically rejected just because he/ she is elderly and his/ her organs won’t work like a 20 yr old?! Thanks

3. Mainly “Communicable diseases of public health significance” (like TB), and mental illness or addictions that may lead to harm of self or others.

Being old is not a medical inadmissibility, however, if someone is for example chronically ill then ability to pay for healthcare might be factored into the public charge calculation.

Assuming not a communicable disease old age usually falls into the Support side of things, enough resources to pay for treatment.
