Question in Initial Interview Notice

Hello, I have some questions.

I am a US citizen and I am married to a Thai women. I have submitted various documents or a kit which includes Work permit, travel doc, and green card etc....

anyway I have submitted them and was received April 10th 2007 by INS. We since have completed the finger printing and received the work permit and 1-131 travel on June 25, 2007

Our initial interview is scheduled for July 26th 2007. My question is what happens during this time, is there anything I need to know, bring other then what they requested on the letter. Seems like they want pictures, 1-94 copies nothing out of the ordinary.

Do I need a lawyer present with us?

Any information would be great.

The innitial interview is the interview for your wife to be approved for her greencard.... take as much evidence as you can from the list on the interview letter and make sure you take the originals of any copies you sent with her AOS application... you may be asked a few questions about eachother and how you met, you may be asked about your life together since she arrived here in the US... just be honest and all should go well....

Good luck at the interview.

You do not need a lawyer present. The interview is quite straight-forward and is usually over in less than 15 minutes.

More than normal. Up until a year or so ago there was no approval without an interview, and today approval without an interview is the exception rather than the rule.

Our interview was like a friendly chat.

There were a few things the interviewer asked to see:

Identification

Photos--we showed a lot from our wedding, as well as a few others from birthdays and holidays

Mail addressed to my husband at our address--we gave him copies of bank statements and a couple pieces of junk mail

We brought much more, but those were the only things we had to show during the interview. We brought originals of everything, but the interviewer didn't ask to see them. We were so over prepared!
