I'll be in CT and RI later this month. My family there all say life is pretty much back to normal, everything's open, and most importantly the vaccinated are not the ones filling the hospitals.

LOL, jinx!

You ever feel like this is a shooting gallery.  The kind where the duck comes out on a track- a- quaking. You knock it down, it comes back around , pops back up and starts quaking again.

Well, it's people like you that forward links from sites like that, so you can hardly blame those of us who opt not to support them for the lack of paid access.  My money remains mine.

Wow, I was granted access by Madama Laylalex?  I am so unworthy...  but thank you!

Alaska BAD.  156 new covid cases per 100k.  How can those fools LIVE with those horrible numbers????  I,140 new cases, vs TX with 10,000, or CA with 7,500?  Let's just cut AK off and let it float to Russia!!

Covid is done.  We only needed two weeks to flatten the curve, and it's been 76 weeks.  Why are we still talking about it?  (Perhaps because it covers up the multitude of failures by the people the liberals elected into power???)

If only you had a clue as to what you are saying.  I'm about 9 years ahead of you.

Why are you shifting goalposts? (I suppose this is a rhetorical question but I am an optimist at heart.) I was talking about rates of hospitalization.

The meaningful number now is the rate of hospitalization, given that vaccinated people are significantly less likely to end up hospitalized or even very ill compared to the unvaccinated. I'm talking about hospitalization rates, and that's where I pointed everyone.

I'll say it again. Hospitalization rates. Let's try to stay focused.

You cannot track those, unless you visit (at a MINIMUM) a state/county/city dash board.  Ole CanAm proved that last month with the whole ivermectin debacle.  The NYT (IMO) cannot be trusted with real-time hospital data, as proven many times last year.

Get covid.  Recover. Like 99.95% of humanity has.

While I have lately tried to stay away from this conversation, and I fully understand your feelings towards the virus and vaccine, there is more to it than "I didn't die"

Most people I know that were vaccinated and later tested positive hardly knew they were sick.  Didn't need hospitalization, and in many cases continued to work with limited exposure to others.  Many that were not vaccinated (and survived, although some did not!) were vary sick, and many spent time in the hospital.

Who wants to get really sick in the first place, and if you spend time in the hospital, just wait until you get THAT bill.

Vaccination was an easy choice for me.

Seriously, it helps to look at data in context. CT (8)/RI (11)/VT (7)/MA (7)/NH (11) are at the very bottom of the chart when it comes to number of hospitalizations per hundred thousand over the last 2 weeks. Maine is worse, but still at 18/100k low. California is at 14, just to throw out another number.

What's at the top so we can compare? WV (61 per 100k), followed by KY (47), ID (43), MT (42), WY (42). Texas is 35. Georgia is 37. That's a huge order of difference between VT and WV.

Here's where I've pulled those numbers from: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2021/us/covid-cases.html

Same can be said for 99% of all covid patients, even without the vaccine.

I feel your pain.  Several former CEHST members have found my penchant for blunt honesty to be unpalatable as well.  Given my penchant for accuracy, I should probably be a Gawga Bulldogs fan.

Also, it's ok to try batting left-handed.  You never know when you might accidentally knock one outta the park!!

Omg. I spit tea. Your penchant for accuracy. Do you really believe that?
