hi folks, i filed n400 12 montsh ago and my i751(waiver) has been pending since july 2020.

my i751 never got transferred after filing n400.

last update for both is "fingerprints taken"

is anyone in similar situation? i'm worried that my case got forgotten because it is never transferred. i see almost everyone's case gets transferred after filing n400 but mine didn't.

appreciate any feedback

This thread is for people who filed I-751 in October 2021. None of us would have filed I-751 in 2020.  I doubt any of us have filed N-400. Some cases filed in 2020 have fallen into a black hole due to necessary  paperwork literally being locked in caves that are at 25 percent level of staffing due to fear of Covid.

If you fill out your timeline, we would be better able to help you. If you'll search, on this site, for N-400 and I-751 filers in the months you filed and, you'll see what others with similar timelines are saying.

Hi guys,

I filed my I-751 and have three I-751A dependents.

Shortly after I filed, we all got our receipt notice, notice they are reusing our biometrics, and the 2 year extension letter.

Then last month, 2 of my kids got ANOTHER initial receipt notice in the mail.

Last Friday, one of my children received a letter in the mail from USCIS.

So only one out of the four of us received a biometrics appointment.

Has anyone else gotten weird things like this?

So 3/4 LPRs in your party have have their biometrics re-used. Biometrics  drift over time and for whatever reason 1/4 of the LPRs on your party were deemed to need new biometrics. I would expect the larger the sample size the more likely at least one person won’t get biometrics reused

Received a notification yesterday that spouse has an appt at local USCIS office to have biometrics done. It's weird because he went through the biometrics 2 years ago shortly after he applied for his green card. Is there a rhyme or reason why some have to redo the biometrics while others do not?

Hypotheses:

1.  I’ve read some USCIS officers claim some LPRs are randomly selected.

2. If USCIS has collected multiple biometrics from the same LPR, drift analysis from those samples can be used to predict what the current draft is and it low enough, another collection is not needed.

3. When LPRs travel by air into the USA, CBP collects biometrics.  If CBP doesn’t detect enough drift to justify a secondary then USCIS might use that as a data point.

Popping in to share the same update as others: my previous biometrics were applied to my case as of March 11! Grateful to see some movement. Anyone know if we get a paper notice confirming this, or is it just a digital case update?

My lawyer says we will get a paper notice.

Seems like a mass update and I hope it bodes well. Lawfully gives us a 64 percent chance of approval by July 19, 2022

Thanks! Yes, it does look like a mass update, which I didn't expect when I logged in today to post my update. Also hoping this is a good sign for all of us, and that we "graduate" sooner rather than later!

Howdy y’all I’m just checking in here as a late October 2021 filer. We recently received our biometric appointment letter for next week.

I am concerned they will schedule our interview during this summer while we are on vacation in Greece (June 13-August 4). I think it is possible to call USCIS and reschedule the appointment. I just hope we don’t have any trouble with that, we are so nervous.

I spoke with another filer in our city (with same origin country) and they too received biometric appointment. So things are looking positive. Good luck to all you guys!

we also just had a baby! I wish I could submit that as evidence. Is there a way to amend that life changing event to our evidence?

I’m not concerned.  Your timeline says you had an I-485 interview.  So you likely will not get an I-751 interview.

If you do, you have choices.  Personally, given how long your vacation is, I’d take the 3-7 days out of it, and fly back to USA to attend the interview. Meanwhile sign up for usps informed delivery, start saving money for extra plane fare, and identify a trusted friend or relative who can check your mail one a week for critical mail from USCIS.

Hopefully a green card will show up for you while on vacation.

The theory on this forum was that those who did AoS likely won't be targeted for biometrics.  That doesn't seem to be a holding true in this latest update.
