Hello Everyone,

My wife and I filed a joint I-751 petition on October 14, 2021.

Received Date: Oct 15, 2021

Notice Date: Oct 18, 2021

Code: MSC

Center: National Benefits Center

Entry into US: CR1

We are in a tight spot in terms of timing of the biometrics appointment:

My wife travels to aboard on Nov 15, 2021.

My wife is back on Dec 24, 2021.

We are concerned that the Biometrics date may come while she is traveling.

It would be great if you could provide an estimate of the biometrics appointment timeline? Based on the timeline above, is it highly likely that the Biometrics date may come while she is aboard? I read that the Biometrics can be rescheduled, but the new date will be 30 days from the original date.

Thank you for your inputs,

N&M

So the nightmare scenario did come true -

My wife received her Biometrics appointment yesterday (Notice date Oct 30, 2021) and the biometrics appointment is schedule for November 22, 2021.

Luckily, we received the notice while she in the US and have gone ahead and rescheduled the flights.

Updated Timeline:

Filed: Oct 13, 2021

Received Date: Oct 15, 2021

Notice Date: Oct 18, 2021

ASC Appointment Notice Date: Oct 30, 2021 (Arrived in Mail on Nov 5, 2021).

Biometrics Date: Nov 22, 2021

Code: MSC

Center: National Benefits Center

Entry into US: CR1

Important point made in the ASC appointment letter:

"Your request to reschedule must 1) Be made BEFORE the date and time of the ORIGINAL appointment 2) Establish good cause for rescheduling."

Thanks for the update.

Did the biometrics appointment letter come with an electronic notification as well? Do you happen to know if the information were updated online when they sent you the biometrics letter? Let's say I am out of the country and I realise mail from USCIS is coming (I have USPS notifications activated), am I able to call them and ask to confirm the appointment date so I can reschedule?

I filed on Oct. 28th and package was received on November 1st. My credit card was charged on November 2nd. The transaction went through fine, but I still don't have some sort of  electronic notification despite filing form G1145. I will be out of the country starting December 16th (until January 16th).  I am scared I will be receiving my biometrics letter during the time I am away.

No update to the case online. I saw the USPS informed delivery page and knew that USCIS sent me something. When I actually checked my mail, it was the ACS appointment letter. I have not opted for email/text notification - so I’m not sure.

If you are lucky, you’ll receive the appointment letter before Dec 16. If not, your best bet is to ask someone to check your mail when you are away for the letter. Hopefully USCIS will reschedule.

We received a letter today that our biometrics have been waived. I didn't know we'd be getting a letter because we got the notification a while back.

That's good to hear!

Unfortunately, Biometrics are almost never waived for CR1 visa applicants because CR1 applicants have never given fingerprints to USCIS for any other petition filed in the US (e.g. I-485). Biometrics were only taken by DoS during the CR1 interview in the applicant's home country and during Port of Entry. So it's highly unlikely for elisabettacarli19 to be waived.

Unreal.   Now if you had no plans, they'd have waived your biometrics.

how were you notified in advance of the letter    I thought the letter was the notification for either an appt, or a waiver.

Packet received Arizona P.O. Box 10/28/21

Moved 3x to 3 different states since her conditional GC got approved so this should be interesting. Kept up with change of address with USCIS though both sponsor and beneficiary. And now we wait. 🙃

Received Date: 10/28/21

Notice Date: 10/30/2021

NOA mail received: 11/09/2021

Received 24 months extension for wife's GC. Does this mean we just wait for our GC now? Or will they send us another notice should they want us to do biometrics and/or interview?

You'll get a notice about biometrics, whether they will require them or reuse the ones you did for AOS

Everything worked out well.

Long way to go before approval but hey...any progress is progress haha

Hello,

I just want to check with you about your Fedex delivery. My package got delivered today and is signed by A.PONCE.

Did you Fedex said anything like that?

(Just asking because I cancelled my Fedex delivery on realizing that i have written wrong Payee name on my money order. But even after asking for cancellation they still delivered it and i got delivered text saying this. Now Fedex is saying they will send someone to pick that package back from the lockbox. I am not even sure that is possible.)
